"If we can create a society which sees the child within every adult – and the adult within every child - we will finally start to change it for the better." We want to make the link between the skills we develop in early childhood and the core foundations that set us up for life and help us to thrive as adults. To help give social and emotional skills the greater priority they deserve, The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood has conducted a first-of-its-kind global listening exercise, involving experts from 21 countries around the world, to catalogue and identify the skills in this area that matter most throughout our lives. The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood has undertaken work to find a common bridge and set of core skills that can apply equally to children and adults, so we can bring people together with a common language and vision to drive action at every level – protecting and strengthening these skills for current and future generations across the whole of society. Through this exercise we found consensus around a set of skills that we develop and nurture during early childhood, but that continue to be enhanced and refined as we grow into adults. They relate to knowing ourselves, managing our emotions, focusing our thoughts, communicating with others, nurturing our relationships, and exploring the world. These are the skills that lay the foundations for our positive future mental health and resilience throughout our lives. Healthy development of these core skills is not inevitable – they must be nurtured from our earliest moments of life. The foundations for these skills are laid in early childhood, between pregnancy and the age of five, which is why those earliest years represent such a golden opportunity to make a difference right from the start. But our social and emotional growth continues throughout our lifetime, and change is always possible. #ShapingUs

We have identified a City owned building in the CBD that was abandoned for 10 years. We want this property to be used as a workspace for young entrepreneurs. The decision to do this follows an X-Space we held with young entrepreneurs who complained about not having space to work. We are availing this city asset for the benefit of young people to work and do business. The building, located on Nana Sita, and should be ready by early 2026 to be utilised as an Entrepreneurs Corner. We are committed to implementing the Tshwane Economic Revitalisation Strategy. As municipalities, we can plan for projected population growth of citizenship, but it’s impossible to plan sufficiently for people we don’t even know that they are in our country and cities. We need national help to deal with illegal immigration. In Tshwane, we have a service delivery plan that covers the years ahead, but its success can be easy hampered by unexpected population growth. We are implementing reforms to improve our trading services and maintain critical infrastructure for better service delivery. Our success also rests on the work done by national government. Firstly, we made it an effort to address the 41% vacancy rate that persisted in the City. These vacancies were across critical service delivery areas. We are on a mission to ensure that businesses comply with municipal by-laws as set out in the Informal Trading and Township Economy By-Law. Through this initiative, want to make it easier for informal businesses to operate with confidence in Tshwane. This sector forms a key part of Tshwane’s Economic Revitalisation Strategy. Residents of Tshwane, we are back in Sunnyside this evening for a by-law enforcement operation. We are at the street that houses the popular nightspot House 22. That club and many other businesses here have been served with eviction notices by the City of Tshwane. These businesses don’t have valid permits and many are none complaint. We were here a few months back and some of those we closed managed to reopen. We are closing them down again. City of Tshwane
