The original Ghost in the Shell is extremely good, but Stand Alone Complex will ALWAYS be the best for me. Also my favorite version of Motoko Kusanagi too.

The 80s and 90s era of machinery/robot animation in anime was unparalleled, specially in films. It's very hard to come across machinery this intricately drawn and animated in modern anime.
