OMG how cute is this 2-week-old newborn baby elephant?!?!?! I'm visiting this great elephant sanctuary in Thailand and the cool thing is the mom of this baby elephant was rescued by Aaron of Planting Peace who helped coordinate my 2 Karmagawa birthday elephant rescues the past 2 weeks! Please retweet this and help me get the word out, DO NOT RIDE ELEPHANTS and do not visit "sanctuaries" that allow riding/bathing with elephants...go check out as they do a great job and are a REAL elephant sanctuary with dozens of rescued elephants and now a newborn baby of a rescued elephant too!

🐘❤️ This rescue gave this elephant a second chance. Rescuers found the elephant with its trunk tightly wrapped in vines and wire. The injury was severe, and the poor animal was clearly in pain. The team carefully removed everything that was cutting into the trunk and treated the wound with medicine. At first, the damage looked so serious that it seemed like the elephant might lose part of its trunk. Thankfully, their quick work helped save it. An elephant depends on its trunk for almost everything, from eating and drinking to breathing and protecting itself. Saving it meant giving this gentle giant a real chance to recover. The dedication and care shown by the rescue team is truly inspiring. Moments like this remind us how much compassion can change a life. ❤️

This elephant has been wreaking absolute havoc in small villages intentionally target Indian residents. Aditya Narayan, divisional forest officer of Chaibasa district, said they believed a young male elephant had been separated from his herd and become “extremely violent”. Narayan said three attempts had been made to tranquillise the elephant but all had failed so far. The elephant is currently unstoppable.

When Mara Elephant Project rangers received reports of a bull elephant inside a fenced settlement, they quickly deployed a drone to help guide him out. But there was a challenge: the fence was electric, posing a risk to the elephant if he attempted to cross it. Using the drone, rangers carefully encouraged the elephant toward the settlement's main gate, hoping that the elephant might understand. What happened next surprised everyone. Rather than trying to step over the fence or use his tusks to break through it, the elephant stopped at the gate, examined it, and figured out how to open it himself.
