I’ve talked to people that knew the families of both Austin Metcalf and his murderer, Karmelo Anthony. It’s my understanding that both of these kids come from good homes. I’ve seen this all my life; young black man living in a financially stable, two-parent household, who fantasize about the gang lifestyle. Karmelo Anthony is an instance where that fantasy was lived out.

Karmelo Anthony’s supporters are now threatening to riot and burn down cities after he was found guilty. Riots for what? Do y’all think it’s okay for a Black person to kill a white person with no consequences? That is racist. Somebody lost their son. Somebody lost their child. Austin Metcalf is never coming home. The only people who should be angry, sad, heartbroken, and devastated right now are Austin Metcalf’s parents. They lost their son. This should have never been turned into a race issue. It was not about Black versus white. Wrong is wrong. You do not get to stab somebody to death and then have people threaten to riot because justice was served. Karmelo Anthony was found guilty. Justice was served.
