This brilliant, modern classic was released 32yrs ago today. THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION (1994)

Still one of my favorite films of all time. An absolute masterpiece.

Mine too 👏🏻🎬👏🏻🎬

The bird you hear at :50 is a cactus wren. A southwest desert species. Like the hunk of obsidian also something you wouldn’t find in a Maine hayfield. Their call is often used in movies for effect.

One of my all-time favorite films!

Top 5 movie for me.

Box office flop,, one of the best films I've seen

And perfectly cast.

👍

One of the best film soundtracks ever. I listened to CD on repeat for years. Thomas Newman.

👏🏻🎬

One of the greatest films of all time How on earth was it not a box office hit but a slow burner that eventually probably broke all records I wonder was it down bas advertising or something And would Stephen King etc preferred it was a box office smash or does it matter now

I didn't want this movie to end when it did!

It’s a masterpiece

One of the many best scene scenes 🎬 of the great movie
