My mum’s got Alzheimer’s. I’m the only person she remembers now and I’m not sure she knows who I am, just that she loves me.

Very powerful and moving short film… 🙏🏾 Alzheimer’s is the focus of a new play i’n scoring @NationalTheatre which looks at the relationship between the children/ caregivers and the patient. It’s called “A Tupperware of Ashes”. I nearly cried when I got to the end of the script. I can’t even begin to imagine how painful it must be emotionally and psychologically to watch a loved one mentally fade in that way… Important for those caring for anyone with dementia to get help and support.

Oh my goodness … this hit me hard

Alzheimer's absolutely sucks. My dad had it. truly heartbreaking.

Absolutely brilliant in creating such a powerful message from the deepest of sadness. A learned poem of beauty, an inspirational piece of music or a silent walk in a rainy forest, is in the main, created by pain.

smile on his face is priceless

My mum asked me who i was, she had no idea, i cared for her for her last couple of years, she used to say “how many others do you look after”? “Just you mum” 💔

💔 This was my dad. It broke my heart. He passed a year ago next month. 😪

And sadly this is too common. My friends mom got that way and died from it. Another friends wife has it now and she is my age, 64. So sad.

That's a heartbreaking film. It's very sad, knowing that so many people are experiencing this pain.
