🇮🇹 1990 Italian Grand Prix Car 11 🇬🇧 Derek Warwick - Lotus 102 Lamborghini V12 On the first lap of the race, while battling with Mauricio Gugelmin, Warwick lost downforce at the exit of the Parabolica corner. His Lotus hit the armco barrier at approximately 150 mph. The car shed pieces, bounced back onto the track, and flipped over, eventually sliding to a stop upside down in the middle of the track. It was an unbelievable sight to see Derek emerge from the car and then run down the pitlane to get the spare Lotus. Due to the race being only one lap old and a red flag shown Derek was able to start the race again but would only complete 15 laps due to a clutch issue with the car. 🎥 Formula 1 👏🏻👏🏻 #italy #f1 #lotus #monza
