This clip needs to be seen in full context, because the part making the rounds does not tell the whole story. Goddessa was talking about how crazy, energetic and wild Ghanaians can be when they party. Her use of the word “mannerless” was not intended as an insult or... a blanket statement about the character of Ghanaians. The conversation was about the way Ghanaians party and the energy they bring, not about calling Ghanaians bad-mannered people. Unfortunately, the conversation has been reduced to one statement and presented in a completely different light. That is why we are sharing the full clip so people can hear the conversation for themselves and understand the context in which those words were said. That said, if any Ghanaian felt insulted or disrespected by her choice of words, we sincerely apologize. That was never the intention. ❤️🇬🇭 We love Ghana and Ghanaians. Let’s not allow a statement taken out of context to create unnecessary negativity. Sometimes, context really matters. 🎥 Big Brother Naija #GoddessaOkechukwu #BBNaijashow more

Hasan's response. 🖤 A chatter suggested that it might be about the "i don't give a fuck about black people's opinion" clip. If that's the case, it was incredibly out of context and not the full story. The person in that out of context clip was faking being a black person.

We understand the previous clip outside of the context of the full podcast has suggested that voting is not important. The whole conversation was structured, not to discourage voting, but to reinforce why it is so important - especially now. Watch the full podcast:

A lot of people have posted this clip of Brian Kilmeade calling for the extermination of homeless people. I've added some context about the crime they were talking about before they went on a tear about homeless people and the ties to Nazi ideology in Kilmeade's statement.

Marc cleared up his last conversation with Candace Owens, specifically the viral clip where he said trans men can have children. He said that clip always gets taken out of context. He was winning the debate on every front, and once Candace started losing, she pulled out the trans issue as a gotcha. What he was actually saying in the clip, Marc explained, is that he wasn't arguing men can have kids. He was talking about trans men, meaning women who later transition and can still have children. So the debate was about the terms people use to describe themselves, not about whether a man can have a baby.

For context, Temi has explained that the moment was part of a game and had been discussed beforehand. Other housemates have also confirmed that the plan was discussed before it happened and it was simply a prank. We understand that the moment may have been interpreted differently, but we believe the full context matters. 🩷 🎥; Big Brother Naija #TemiNkem #Bbnaija

This clip is a disingenuous representation of what apostle Emmanuel said. Dutiful s+x is for every married person and not exclusive to women. It’s also sad that the larger context of her conversation was about r@pe, making it a more insidious way to reference the original clip.

It Is the Police Who Will Decide Whether or Not Senator Fadahunsi’s Statement Was Illegal or Not - Morka It is not for any of us to be second-guessing what was said or not said; that is the job of the police. He has been invited to explain his comments, and we must wait for the police to do their jobs and properly put his statements in context. Felix Morka, National Publicity Secretary, APC

Let me address the UP party directly. You went into 2024 telling Ghanaians that both the NPP government and the NDC alternative were not good enough. Fine. But the NDC is now in power doing far worse than anything you accused the NPP of and instead of holding them accountable, you are defending them. Why? The NDC promised Ghanaians a RESET. They said everything the NPP did was bad. They set the standard themselves. So we do not even need to remind anyone what the NPP said. Hold the NDC to THEIR OWN words. If reset means sole-sourcing GHS 73 billion, then what exactly was reset?

This argument conveniently demands “full context” only when it is being used to defend him, while completely ignoring the context surrounding his repeated treatment of Nomy. If we are talking about context, then let’s talk about all of it. Tram didn’t simply wake up one day and become the “victim” of Nomy’s reaction. He has repeatedly provoked her. He explicitly said he would frustrate her and turn the house against her. That is not an innocent misunderstanding. That is an expressed intention to antagonise someone and isolate them socially. And this is not just about one argument. There has also been a repeated pattern of age-shaming and body-shaming Nomy. The “he only said ‘somewhere is smelling’” defence is also deliberately narrow. Context is not just about the exact wording of one sentence. Context includes the pattern of interactions that led to the confrontation, what had been said before it, and what each person had been doing throughout the situation. You cannot demand nuance for Tram while denying Nomy the same nuance. #BBNaija

“The Ghanaian government overreacted. We have a lot of respect for the people of Ghana, but for them to claim that their people were beaten up when they were not is largely dishonest.” — Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma, leader of the March and March Movement in South Africa, asserts that xenophobia attacks on Ghanaians are false and that the Ghanaian government overreacted

“Ghana is a blessed land. There’s no place like home. Ghanaians don’t travel because they feel that nothing better can come out of Ghana; rather, they travel out of curiosity. We all travel for one reason or another.” — Foreign Affairs Minister Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa said this at the Ghana High Commission in Pretoria while addressing Ghanaians who have voluntarily decided to be repatriated to Ghana, adding that Ghanaians who are in hospitals in South Africa on emergency cases and wish to be repatriated will be flown home on the presidential jet

This was the mood of Ghanaians when Nkrumah was overthrown. Most Ghanaians today would have hated Nkrumah but our social studies books and the hero worship Nkrumah created around himself has made discussing Nkrumah an emotional topic. Under Nkrumah, you couldn't criticise him. The media was not allowed to publish anything negative. His political opponents were jailed. And private business was difficult. Most of the factories and state institutions had failed due to corruption, nepotism and incompetence in the 1960s. Talking about the ills of Nkrumah today seem likes talking about a religious figure. I hope one day our social studies books will show us the good and bad of each government from 1957. Show us all the records of each government across all sectors, the projects they started, those they inherited, when each was completed, the length of years each had and the amount of wealth each had. May be then, we would have an open mind about the Nkrumah conversation.

Sam Altman: AI models need their own device so they can stay with you and understand the context of your life. “The iPhone is currently the greatest piece of consumer hardware ever made.” “But it was not meant for a world where you needed hardware that could absorb all the context of your life.” “My phone is in my pocket, and it’s not gonna understand us.” “I would like a device that can participate, understand, and know about this conversation.” “And OpenAI is committed to building something along those lines.”

We're incredibly proud of what we created with our Titled Tuesday broadcasts, but unfortunately we will not continue after Split 3 is done. Here's a bit of context. "What shocked me the most was when Danny joined the Dina podcast, where Dina asked him about this partnership, and he said that we're only doing Titled Tuesday with Take Take Take because we paid them a big check." "We are covering the prize fund. So we are paying the prize money for the players. The thing that shocked me was that, yes, it's factually true that we are paying the prize fund and covering that expense for Chesscom, but we had a shared ambition. And it was very clear to me in that interview that this ambition is only for Take Take Take." "That was devastating for me and for the team to hear, for our partner in this project not to have the same vision and alignment and talking about how big Titled Tuesday can become."
