It’s wrong but it’s so so common that we’ve learnt to live with it. His slow speed saved him but there could have been errant driver behind who could have hit him from behind. People will say action must be taken against those who break laws but with such huge population and a culture of breaking rules, its next to impossible to avoid such situations although he shouldn’t be overtaking from left without clear vision of space far ahead.

1. overtaking from left. 2. No clear sight for road ahead before overtaking. Cluster. 3. No road markings. 4. 2 wheeler is smiling because he knows he is wrong. "mens rea" isn't required for traffic violations. So they must be punished. 5. Often, loud music inside car.

I think i understand why truckers always drive in overtaking lane… they want to avoid such bozos every now and then . If not a wrong side driver then a biker suddenly entering the highway without looking.

My take away is as soon as you notice that the car in front of you is blocking your view of the road ahead best start slowing down until you get a clear view of what is ahead.

In India, expect something ahead & be prepared There WILL be an idiot in the middle of the road Some idiot would have kept a cone in the middle, without a warning Some idiot would be coming from the opposite side There might be a cow basking in the sun on a highway Etc Etc

although, wrong driving is absolutely wrong, but here, atleast he is on extreme left....there have been cases where someone is on extreme right ....

The countless “what ifs” sending shivers down my spine.

We can avoid all of them by keeping a safe following distance
