This could get ugly. 👀 The rule is set to take effect on March 11. New rule where companies will get rid of 1099 workers ( I believe he means 1099)... they must be listed on payroll as an employee. Ex: independent delivery ppl who aren't employed by the... show more

It always ends this way when "they" realize tax dollars are to be made. If you earn an extra $5000 per year delivering groceries and write it all off in mileage, then they get nothing from that $5k. Now they can tax it up front. That is "their" money. Not yours. Got it?

The fed is dead and the IRS is abolished and has been absorbed into the US Treasury. Nobody needs income tax forms any more. Calm down and enjoy the blessings unfolding. Didn’t Trump tell us The Best Is Yet To Come? It’s begun. Stop with all this fear.

Could this be a way to on paper make it look like there is more job creation then there actually is by chance?.

What are y’all talking about I9 is to identify if a employee have papers or not meaning SS/DL etc

Sorry I believe he meant 1099

How they gonna remove that ? That’s what identify what kind of employee you are ! W2 -1099 -1040 etc etc can’t name all the forms the IRS have at the moment to file taxes.

@Jessica85053915 @PaTrumpGirl Eeek 😦 I have team in the US who work as a side hustle for the 1099? No way … is there a link?

@_shekhinah_pj @PaTrumpGirl Well yeah if this happened there will not be any 1099

@_shekhinah_pj @PaTrumpGirl No more contract work

This is not true 😂 Fake news!

Did you even look it up? U.S. Department of Labor Issues New Final Rule for Classifying Independent Contractors, Effective March 11, 2024

Why cant you edit comments? "New rules" don't change anything for a independent contractor. We have many contracts with multiple companies & didn't hear anything from them or our accountant. Why i figured it was bullshit. This changes nothing regardless.

California tried doing this a couple years ago with Uber & Lyft drivers but both companies threatened to stop doing business in California & Newscum backed down & targeted independent truck drivers So they switched tactics and got the government to change the rules I wonder if Uber & Lyft are excluded from these new regulations & it mainly targeting Independent truck drivers

You heard it from the guy in a hoodie in his car shooting his 8th take first.

this will be a deathblow to people side hustling to keep the wolves at bay... if this happens it ill be bad...

All you do is create a LLC and have them hire your company. Problem solved

Maritime laws. I feel this could be the start of government payout of owed monetary shares. certain bloodlines are entitled to monetary shares. biblical Divine birthright. The royal British Rothschild monarch stole everybody’s ancestral wealth & entailment.

can some one explain “Employee or Independent Contractor Classification Under the Fair Labor Standards Act, RIN 1235-AA43” like i’m a 5 year old

if this is true, it will impact the oil and gas industry pretty hard, most consultants are 1099's... lots of consultants...

this is done to protect the worker. You all realize that right? Lots of you don’t realize how much you’re being taken advantage of by being a 1099 worker. It is literally doing this to protect your rights. I was a gig worker. You are not covered if you were sitting at a stoplight

Oh my dear Lord! Shits gonna hit the fan this including what’s gonna happen with banks to this week.

Also on March 11 the Federal Reserve will cease the Bank Term Funding Program (BTFP) which will stop making new loans.

This is why @DoorDash ‘Dash Now’ is now always ‘unavailable’ - Grey Zone for drivers Was earning $1500 a month and now $100 ?? (still poverty but needed something - avg’d $11-15 hr w/tips😡) They also just instituted a ‘guaranteed $18.75hr’ rate but its always ‘unavailable’

A lot of construction workers are 1099. And consultants.

Not TRUE! Well America is broke anyway, the value of $1 is not even worth $1…it’s about .69¢ which is why the housing market had to skyrocket right along with inflation! Why is America paying taxes on debt & being taxed on income as well, it’s double dipping!!! It’s all a scam.

Oh yeah…I’m in direct sales. We are all independent contractors in the direct sales and network marketing industry. This affects all of us greatly.

Apparently the new “rule” isn’t being taken seriously by gig companies. Quote from article here “Uber, Lyft and DoorDash (DASH.O) in separate statements said they did not expect the rule to change the way they do business.”

Pay in silver

It’s good for some & bad for some, there’s 1099’s who want to become W-2 to get benefits/etc., then some businesses don’t want to W-2 people-because the business pays more tax-on that person vs 1099 who pays all the tax, a great tax accountant will help you to figure it out

If 1099 workers actually payed their taxes this wouldn’t happen

I believe it got overruled like Friday

Do you have a link bc I couldn't find any

How do you decide to make a post on something and not know what a 1099 even is…

Good/Bad, double edged sword. It makes employers commit to the workers. One the other hand it will allow employers to force their will on people who don't want that lifestyle such as "deliver this load of goods to NYC or else"...

Then Biden will say “Look Folks, I created 10 million jobs out of thin air”

@RedArcher171_2 Did FLSA change the meaning of employee and independent contractor? Who agreed to this?

Atlas Shrugged today, as the crowd chanted, “who is John Galt?”

The whole under the tax table economy is why so much money set aside for minority owned small businesses gets left unspent: their payrolls and costs and business activities are under-recorded to “hide” income.

@martingeddes Gulag door just slammed shut

Nothing is happening move along guys.

William on how an early stage employee takes way more risk than a founder: "If I'm making $400-500K at Google or Meta and go to an early stage company to get 1% of this company and make $90,000. I've now changed the trajectory of my life, that's a lot of risk. But as a founder, you're not. It's a much higher likelihood that of the next round, regardless of your company, you'll be able to sell some secondary. If it shuts down, you can get employed at a great company, and you have a CEO on your resume. That first employee, they have first employee at a failed company. That's actually not a great resume line item. So we've de-risked the founder, but we haven't de-risked the early stage employee."
