Remember this deaf girl - Enwongo - I met in the village in 2023? She could not communicate with anyone as nobody could sign in the village. I put her in a school for the hearing impaired, and now she can sign very well. See video. I want to give her a phone with good apps for the deaf - so that during the holidays she can communicate with people. Right now she has nobody to talk to during the holidays. Any tips on good apps to keep an isolated, deaf girl entertained and communicating?

This afternoon, in honour of #NelsonMandelaDay, we gifted visually impaired residents of Ga-Rankuwa with blankets. The residents are members of the Ikageng Self-Help Association of the Blind. We chose Ikageng because of the important work the organisation provides to vulnerable members of our community. Ikageng helps keep its members active and educated. In addition to the blankets we’ve donated today, we will be assisting the organisation to rebuild its garden so that the community can benefit from the vegetables and fruits grown from this yard.
