This dude shuts down the DUI check point without answering a single question. We are in Northern Nevada and this bodycam from the rider captures a textbook interaction showing exactly how to assert your constitutional rights without turning a routine stop into an unnecessary escalation. While passing through a... show more

The “ i can detain you for an hour” is retaliatory and therefore intimidation under the color of law.. just ask questions don’t threaten… and he lied stating he didn’t pull him over.

This is retarded. Drunk driving is a serious issue. Save the freedom drama for other unprovoked stops.

We desperately need police reform, maybe stop training local police to treat every citizen as a criminal. Maybe stop sending police to train with the IDF

If you were not guilty of anything what was the harm in answering questions. You were just doing this to be a douchebag because you hate authority. Yet if anything were to happen to you you would rely on them to save your life. To me you're just a piece of shit.

Motorcyclist didn’t “shut down” the checkpoint. Rather, he prolonged his detention.

This was dumb. I have known people that have been killed by drunk drivers. If all they’re doing is making sure that people aren’t partying and then driving. It’s a simple yes or no question and then you can go about your day. And this is coming from a person that thinks taxation is theft and registration and inspections outside of safety on cars is employed by the government to just milk us for what they can get.

Police need objective, articulable facts for reasonable suspicion to detain under Terry v Ohio (it was clearly a detention beyond the checkpoint). Asserting one’s 5th Amendment rights does not qualify. Cop lied about it too (random lol).

We do not live in a police state. They try to normalize it so the younger generation doesn’t even realize that they have lost rights. It’s the long game & they know it’s illegal.

He is a fkup. It cost him more time and annoyance idiot! Just comply

At first it seems adversarial and unnecessary to speak to police that way, but legally it's very smart.

This is the way. We are sovereign citizens and souls and we reject and DO NOT consent to this type bullshit. Full stop.

There was a time when I called these people stupid and annoying. I said they should just comply, and go on about their business. Then Covid hit, and my eyes witnessed what is coming soon. The police will be the arm of the dystopia they want us trapped in. They will follow orders

By the way motorcyclists, if the cops stop you remove your key and put in in a pocket, they love to turn your bike off and remove the key thereby making you a hostage of their stop, they can't reach into a car and do it, but you're exposed and vulnerable

The absolute composure on display here is a masterclass in constitutional law. Asking “Are you requesting or ordering me?” is the ultimate checkmate. It completely strips away the psychological tricks officers use to turn voluntary favors into forced compliance. Watching the officer resort to the classic "I can detain you for an hour" line purely out of frustration because someone actually knew their rights is wild. No attitude, no screaming, no argument—just calm, textbook invocation of the 4th and 5th Amendments. He obeyed every direct order, refused every voluntary trap, and walked away with their business cards while they handed his license right back. Know your rights, stay calm, and force them to play strictly by the book. Absolute legend.

I dont like unconstitutional stops either. but at the same time being on a motorcycle you should appreciate getting drunk reckless drivers off the road.

Cops are unnecessarily dicks. Harassing without cause is a dick move. Way too much lower

God they hate when you don’t do what they want. Hurts their power trip 😂 I love it 👍🏻

Many of you have been to a dui checkpoint, didnyou awnser their questions or did you do what this motorcyclist did. I've always answered questions like this officer gave and always in and out.

When this motorcyclist gets slammed by a drunk driver, who is he gonna call if he’s still alive? You d*cks can scream all you want about your rights and amendments, but you’ll all dial 911 when you’re scared shitless and injured! Bunch of losers.

You know as a republican I’m definitely starting to see the Democratic side of defending the police. They’re just a big gang that works for the government.

Honestly, all he had to say was "No." That would have been the end of it and he would've sent him on his way. That easy. You don't always have to make things an argument.

He could've just said no I havent and went about his day, but yeah sure make your day harder by being a bitch to the cops for a routine stop, like literally this is the single time where just complying is the answer

If you weren't drinking what's the damn problem. Why do you have to make such an issue unnecessarily when it's nothing but a waste of everyone's time.

This type of push back against the police often seems petty, pointless, and even confrontational. But it's needed to protect hard fought for liberties. Those who argue "If you've got nothing to hide..." fail to appreciate how overreach accumulates over time.

What a fucking douchbag on the bike. If a DUI checkpoint could have saved a mom and her kids from dying thus summer from a drunk driver....at 11 a.m. instead of just saying no. Also have seen these to look for a wanted man. Thank you for being a POS and hindering it

A lot of good men died 80 years ago so that we wouldn’t be subjected to this fascist behaviour

Answering in the affirmative is going to immediately make you a target for a fishing expedition, whereas lying about it is a crime. Therefore it should be illegal for the cops to treat you differently simply for exercising your right to remain silent. Unless they smell alcohol or observe indications of inebriation, they should be required to just wave you through.

Cops in Shorts are the 2nd worst kind, only Lady Cops are worse.

This guy is a dick. Just comply and be on your way. Idiot.

Imagine keeping roads safe. He could have answered no and 15 minutes saves so they can move to the guy next in line. He was a fucking douche......libtard ass. He wasnt charged with anything nor did they ask him to do sobriety

How these are ruled constitutional is beyond me.

What was his fckng point really?? Searching for trouble and escalating a quite normal situation if not having alcohol in his blood. What a stupid moron and he is proud to show people what kind of fckng idiot he is. Don't loose our time on that stupid post.

If I answer your questions do you intend on using it against me in a court of law?

Check points are warrentless searches

This is moronic.... Just answer the fucking questions and move on. Dude delayed himself....... For probably 20minutes..... For what outcome?
