TOM LEE: THE MARKET IS CHEAPER THAN PEOPLE THINK Thomas (Tom) Lee (not drummer) FundstratDirect.com says this rally is still earnings driven, not P/E driven. 2027 S&P 500 earnings estimates have jumped from $352 to $399 this year. But the forward P/E has fallen: 🔹 S&P 500: 6,846 → 7,365 🔹 Forward P/E: 19.4x → 18.4x 🔹 Earnings up 🔹 Multiple down That means the market is higher, but fundamentally cheaper than January 1st. Semis just dropped 7% in one day. Since 2011, 6%+ one day drops in semis have had an 88% win rate over 1, 3 and 6 months, with a median 6 month gain of 38%. Tom Lee’s view: This looks less like a top and more like a buyable dip in the AI infrastructure trade.

Our take: This was the most bullish earnings season in years, but there was more caution among executives than we assumed there would be, as there is concern about demand being sustained.

the IBM earnings reinforced something I think Wall Street is still underestimating: IBM is becoming an operating system for enterprise AI. The initial earnings reaction focused on the familiar metrics—revenue growth, infrastructure, margins and quarterly expectations. But that misses the bigger transformation underway. The AI market is bifurcating. On one side are companies building frontier models. On the other are companies helping enterprises operationalize AI—integrating it with existing systems and data, governing it, securing it, and turning AI into measurable business outcomes. IBM is increasingly positioning itself for that second market. And that's important because the enterprise AI conversation is moving from models to tools, from experimentation to outcomes, and ultimately toward autonomy and agents. IBM has decades of enterprise infrastructure, software, data and consulting relationships sitting underneath that transition. The mainframe isn't necessarily legacy in this world—it can become part of the context and transaction infrastructure AI acts upon. Wall Street initially looked at the quarter. Tom Lee on CNBC says we've seen this movie before. He compares today's AI skepticism to 1994–95, when investors questioned whether Cisco and the internet buildout were sustainable. If he's right, companies building the AI infrastructure $IREN, $NBIS, and $CIFR may still be in the early innings. His view? • AI remains in very good shape. • Hyperscaler AI spending is unlikely to slow. • Recent consolidation is more about market positioning than a broken AI thesis. History doesn't repeat, but it often rhymes.

A historic rotation is underway. On July 15th, Adam Kobeissi joined Fox Business and called for a rotation back into the Magnificent 7 to lead the S&P 500 to 8,000. The recent market leadership of chip stocks allowed the Magnificent 7 to correct, while still seeing historic earnings growth, without dragging the broader S&P 500 index lower. This was the largest such divergence between the S&P 500 and the Magnificent 7 since 2022. Less than 3 weeks since this clip with Adam Kobeissi and Charles V Payne, the S&P 500 is now above 7,700, Microsoft and Amazon are up +25% in 5 days, and the S&P 500 is worth a record $70 trillion. Many of these large cap technology names are now trading CHEAPER than the S&P 500 on a Forward P/E basis. Ironically, many stocks in this market are getting cheaper as they go up. Own assets or be left behind.

Nvidia’s AI Monopoly: $100 Billion in Profit & Growing 🎙️⚡️ Everyone's hyped on OpenAI, ChatGPT, Grok, XAI, etc ... but the company powering them is making all the guap. Nvidia has printed over $100B in AI profits in the last 6 quarters alone and is showing now signs of stopping. Top-line growth was 69% last quarter. Despite this rapid growth and dominance in AI, Nvidia trades for 43X trailing earnings, and maybe around 30X forward earnings (depending on growth). This is nowhere near bubble territory. With Owner/Operator/Founder Jensen Huang continuing to innovate at a breakneck pace, why is the market skeptical this growth will continue? Isn't the AI revolution just getting started? Maybe it's because Nvidia relies on TSMC to make their chips and Grok/ChatGPT to build the UI for consumers ... let me know your thoughts on Nvidia stock in the comments below $NVDA
