Wasn’t this is idea in an old Robert Redford Cold War movie? Something about an ice bullet. Someone gets fatally shot, it gets investigated, there’s no evidence, investigators are stumped, and Robert Redford is like- ice bullet.

A new peer-reviewed study finds that Antarctica has cooled since 2003. Using the high-resolution AntAir ICE satellite record, researchers split the continent into 12 regions. While half warmed and half cooled, it was the cooling that dominated. The Antarctic Peninsula showed the strongest shift, cooling by -0.12C per year (or about -2.2C in 18 years). Western land areas cooled the most, while the eastern ice shelves showed only weak, statistically insignificant warming. Elsewhere, trends, overall, were found to be flat.
