Dunno about mail-order companies direct from farm ... but if I lived in a big city, I'd drive hours to stock up. Commercial farming is just nasty.

Nitrate poisoning will kill the fish and cause algae blooms in any pond you dump enough chicken manure into. The thick mat of algae blooming will strangle the fish, keep the bottom of the pond from getting sunlight, and probably affect the water supply also it'll smell horrible.

All I can think of is bird-to-fish parasite lifecycles. I wouldn’t recommend swimming anywhere near that 😅
