This happens when you don’t use unreal engine 5

The pointing animation used to mark enemies has been removed in BF6. This is one of the features that Battlefield has maintained through many versions, and I really hope they bring it back.

I had never played it before, but after BF6 I decided to give it a try, and I was really impressed by the graphics. I never imagined so much detail and beauty. Games have truly lost their shine; Arkham Knight is another great example of an old yet beautiful game.

21 year old game that runs on a GeForce 210 btw

To bad the Battlefield game after BF1 doesn't include this kind of immersive outcome in Operation(or Breakthrough) mode anymore

ai coders today

its 720p saaar i want 4k saar , i want ray tracing saar

Crysis, 2007, still holds its own against modern games on graphics and a lot of points ^^

When the industry has a culture of firing everyone that actually knows how to develop the game and work on that engine, this kind of stuff tends to disappear, well optimize beautiful games that push the limits of visuals and can run on anything If EA didn't fuck over everyone...

This shit ran on gt 730 with 80fps

Can yall stop the bf1 glazing. Terrible time period adaptation. Every gun was an automatic or semi automatic in a time period where those weapons were anomalies. Maps were pretty subpar overall (Bf6 isnt beating those allegations either) Immersion and graphics all it has

reminder that bf 1 had red army and russian civil war expansion. meanwhile bf v as ww2 game had no eastern front. bf 5 was start of downfall of bf games.

It really does run on a fucking potato! Ive been dual booting into windows just to play battlefield 1 and i had like 300mb of memory left fucking nothing would run exept for this game. Windows explorer? Nope. Wanna see some files? Nope. Run battlefield 1? Hell yeah

it's refreshing to see developers attack a challenge without the crutches of hardware. reading the stories of how they managed to get crash bandicoot on ps1 on a single disk using only 2 MB of ram and to run optimally should be aspiring to all software developers awesome interview from a masterclass on how game developers in the 90s were:

Enough time has passed that the 1060 is now a potato GPU 😔😩

Shame it fucking sucked

The decline in performance and visuals in modern gaming is approaching criminality

cant wait for the india + vibe coded games that require 32GB of RAM minimum

Literally one of the best first shooters games So subbmersive, movements and sounds are top 👌

Not quite. Roller Coaster Tycoon was coded by a wizard. This game is just made by competent people. The issue is that modern game developers don’t care about competence of optimization, they just hire a bunch of people to cobble EU5 assets together

It's mostly because of HD textures and 4K. They take 4x the processing for effectively the same graphics. So at the cost of more expensive hardware, more expensive development costs, longer development times, and longer load times, we get slightly less boxy graphics.

BF1 gave me war flashbacks to a war I wasn't even alive for. Brutal game with the animations and distruction. Mustard gas a genuine terror. I wish the servers were more full, but the time I played this year was still as fun as launch.

Reminds me a lot of hell let loose

no it didnt. When it released it ran poorly on PCs because this game introduced Ray Tracing. Yall so stupidly blinded by nostalgia that yall are blanking out all the problems. If you're referring to todays "potato" PCs, of course it will run, its 9 years old.

Of course it can. No RT/RTGI to destroy performance & no FSR or other upscalers to ruin image quality; those weren't things yet. It's basically using old-style PS4 era tech. And this game's old - it should run good on modern PC's via brute force of current CPU's/GPU's.

improvements in videogame graphics slowed to a trickle of exponentially more expensive incremental improvements in the 2000s, and we've still got dipshits pretending to be amazed that a game released less than a decade ago has decent graphics

Bro you have been engagement farming BF1 tweets for a week straight. We get it the game looks good 😭

It's not wizardry it's pure engineering combined with art. something we lost amidst the poor decisions of the shareholders... software used to be fun... now it's all about generating revenue for the CEOs who understand nothing.

You know what else can you do with potatoes comrade?

The devs wrote 0 documentation and relied on a few hardcore frostbite engineers to carry the rest of the team. they're no longer a part of the studio so all the tech debt can't be erased.

I used to run this game on my piece o' shit laptop, ran beautifully, games nowadays could never.

Oh my god that visual recoil I remember player are mad as hell because of it but i think player standards at that time wasn’t even able to realize visual recoil in their games until MW19 and then players say hey it’s look satisfying!!

CoD players don't like visual recoil because it's obstructive. Battlefield players like visual recoil because realism That's basically how it goes

You are honestly right about this I know cod community and i remember when infinity ward announced mw19 gameplay people were kinda WTH is this? This isn’t cod this is R6 siege or battlefield this isn’t cod but I don’t know how cod player accepted it after months of release?

Because MW2019 really doesn't have that much visual recoil. It's minimal. MW2022 took it to the extreme
