I think people very greatly misunderstand the point of free roam lol. It’s really not a main focus of the game, it’s not even listed with the other modes. It’s really just there because it would be dumb if they made this open world and didn’t let you explore it.

I enjoy just driving around and listening to the music, finding a couple collectibles and challenges. It’s a great way to wind down after a few chaotic races.

People don't even play this mode and complain about the game getting stale after a day. For me the free roam is what thia game is about. I've still not played the other modes and I have 50 hours on the game. It's called Mario Kart World. Not Mario Kart same ol shit.

Free roam is very therapeutic after a long day at work. The music, environments and driving come together to create a very relaxing and experience. I say this as someone who wasn't a really big fan of free roam at first. Nintendo cooked with this one.

Nintendo should update the game to where you can see other people in free roam as ghosts kinda like how Mario Wonder has player ghosts in multiplayer.

Free roam would’ve been better if there was more to do and more rewarding for doing p missions instead of stickers and mirror mode and should’ve been an online mode in itself with huge lobbies and allowing you to challenge other players to races from point a to point b

I agree. Some people don’t know how to just stop and smell the roses. This game is beautiful and the soundtrack is fantastic. I like driving in real life too, and the fun of driving IRL as well as in free roam is just taking in the sights as you go along. There’s magic to that.

Returned to it for the first time in a while tonight, after Bananza and a bunch of games. So good. Oozes polish every single place you look, and is just so fun. The free roam is legit relaxing.
