I was waiting the whole time for him to say, “and it finally came to me to clean my desk.”

Be honest: how many of you stared at the desk and shelves and whispered under your breath, "There's hope for me."

Sir Andrew Wiles in Oslo, when Wiles collected his Abel Prize (with a random non-math Hjort, coincidentally).

What people might forget, was that he was wrong, the proof needed further work. In collaboration with other mathematicians he finally ironed out the issues, and Fermat’s conjecture was solved. Science isn’t achieved without other people checking your homework.

This, it was when it finally dawned on me that time was a conserved quantity, I was working on a white paper for Borland International regarding the latest developments in object orientated behavioural methodologies. For years I had searched for a key invariant as such, the paper dealt with reflection and other topics. I wrote somethings "Properties denote the behaviour" I thought passed momentarily, I had heard it before somewhere but not within the information context of that time, far too early, in doing so the insight faded and I got on with the work. It plagued me for hours trying to recall my initial insight, so I replayed the events in my head by rewriting the paragraph as before, something glimmered. Focus, you cannot imagine my own frustrations with myself, then it just hit me, the laws of conservation are invariant in nature, a form of dynamic behaviourism. As such the laws of conservation can be summarised within behavioural systems sciences, of which I was developing for real time control systems etc. Time was a big part of my work, defining it, distributing it, maintaining disparate systems with potential lag phenomena due to stress as such, it just hit me, what if time is a conserved quantity and governed by the same invariant primitive. All emergent properties are invariantly conserved in time, as time is a conserved quantity, time is a fluid symmetry. As such time holds fluid properties such as vorticity, viscosity etc, gravity is a temporal differential inertia, as such all things fall according to a path, the path of least resistance within time. What was the impasse of relativity and quantum mechanics are just downstream approximations of an underling temporal hydrodynamics, according to observational scale. Welcome to the revolution and the temporal age, now you can imagine my reaction also. Chronoflux Principia: The Hydrodynamics of Cosmic Time #Amazon via @Amazon

Reading replies, I’m honestly surprised people don’t know Wiles or FLT. But then again, I am not surprised because our civilization doesn’t value mathematics or the work of mathematicians

This gets me every time also. No one else can ever hide what they are doing for 8 years because of social media. Example of the slow steady mathematician who fooled Ken ribet.

That was like me, trying to figure out where my coffee because I didn't see it in all the regular places I have left it before and then BAM I deduced I left it in the microwave.

There is a book by Simon Singh: Fermat's Last Theorem. I read it as a 12-year-old, and it profoundly impacted me, showing the level of dedication and maniacal obsession one needs. It's beautifully written. “I have a proof, but the margin is too narrow to contain it.”

A Eureka moment. A true neurophysics of the phenomonology of basic positive/negative mental experiences explains why moments of such deep neural-network incoherence resolution-> mass coherent harmony are peak bliss. Spiritually/evolutionarily/neurophysically, makes sense.
