This goal 2 years ago was overturned for a hand pass. This is EXACTLY the same thing Huberdeau just did. #NYR

No where in the rule book does it make the distinction between deflection vs intentional. He touched it with his glove, it directed to a teammate, they gained an advantage. It literally could not be a more textbook definition of a hand pass

@RangersTrap15 Toronto: “We’re reviewing a play involving a possible hand pass.” Bettman: “Are the Rangers the team that’s challenging the call?” Toronto: “Yep.” Bettman: “Fuck ‘em!” Toronto: “Understood.” Referee: “We have a good goal.”

Refs rarely makes calls FOR the Rangers. A glove is a glove, a deflection is with a stick.

Don't forget this one

Would had been nice to have something to celebrate…I truly dont see much about this team that gives any confidence. They arent very fast. They arent very big. They dont play very hard. They dont seem to have a great coach. Oh but they all are great friends…

refs hate us confirmed 🙂↕️🙂↕️

The TO player actually looked like he got it in his open hand (granted I’m looking on my phone). I see them as different.

💯

No. It’s easily distinguishable, there was no advantage gained in Calgary as per the rule, and in this scenario that puck would’ve been cleared, or in AZ possession, so that’s an advantage gained.

Coronato plays the puck after Huberdeau knocks it down with his glove. That's the advantage. Puck possession.
