This is insane. Ohio Republican Senator Bernie Moreno now threatening sanctions on Doug Ford and Mark Carney over the wildfires. He says they should have their assets seized and be denied visas. He’s not fringe, this is on a top show on Fox News. Utter insanity.

On Friday, Stats Canada announced 48,000 private sector job losses, mostly full time. Total job losses 33,000. In the United States the Bureau of Labor Statistics announced an increase of 228,000 new jobs. Remember though, Mark Carney is an economic star.

I’ve often heard of the hawks in downtown Toronto being savage with other animals, even taking small dogs. Until today, I had never seen it. Here is a hawk eating a pigeon outside Kelly Library at St. Mike’s at U of T.

This was the most interesting part of Carney's appearance this morning. Asked what changes the Americans made that were unacceptable, he gave a clear and direct answer with concrete examples. This was not a deal any PM should have signed with those auto tariffs on trucks.

We were asked to delay the DST for 30 days. We said no, it takes effect on Monday and our a retroactive payment of up to $3 billion due then. The bill that brought in the DST was only passed last June but the companies are being told to pay it going back to 2022. Dumb move.
