This is why I need a house. Kinda hard to store hundreds of pounds of beef in a one bedroom apartment.

He’s right. You can also use the cow skin to make belts, gloves and what not. It’s fur for pillows or cushions. The animal died for us. Best to not waste any of the animal.

There’s also some other parts left off this video: tongue, cheek meat, liver and tail meat… very little goes to waste.

I just ordered my third 1/2 beef a couple weeks ago. It’ll be delivered next week. Grass fed and finished. I will never buy grocery store trash meat again!

@grok what is the going rate for half a cow like this cut up in California?

The going rate for half a cow, cut up, in California is roughly $2,000 to $3,000, based on local ranch prices in 2025. This translates to $9 to $11 per pound for take-home meat, depending on the cow’s weight and whether it’s grass-fed, which is pricier. Processing fees and cut preferences can affect costs. For exact prices, check with ranches like Stemple Creek or TX Bar Grass Fed, as rates vary. Conventional beef prices are less clear but may be lower.

I wish I had the freezer space. I go half on a quarter cow with a buddy, twice per annum. Couple game animals, and some fish in the mix. You're set for the year. Coat effective, high quality.
