We heard what the mayor said, and we know exactly what he meant. Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson had a ridiculous meltdown on Tuesday when asked what he’s going to do to bring crime down if he refuses federal help. He said crime is down and he’s using every tool available to him, except federal, of course. Johnson then says “jails, and incarceration, and law enforcement is a sickness that has not led to safe communities.” With an attitude like that it’s no surprise that Chicago has more m*rders than any other city in the US for 13 years straight. Johnson also plays the race card, of course, during his angry yelling. He says he’ll help the people in this community because they’ll black like him. (nbcchicago on TT)

Two minutes of Mayor Brandon Johnson shamelessly lying or burnishing his image on far-left MS NOW. Johnson claimed crime increased where ICE carried out immigration enforcement in Chicago. A barefaced lie, crime dropped in Little Village when ICE was present because gang activity evaporated over gang members' fear of arrest and deportation. Johnson then claimed his revamping of CPD's Detective Bureau led to a "71 percent clearance rate" for homicides. A falsehood, the clearance rate has only risen because homicides have dropped and some cases are simply closed without an arrest. Johnson then claimed his policies — chiefly affordable housing — led to a 30 percent drop in homicides and said Chicago "doubled the national average" for reductions in crime. A flat-out lie, crime only dropped after Eileen O'Neill Burke took over as CCSA and reversed Kim Foxx's policies. In one of his more amusing comments, Johnson said if Trump was committed to addressing crime, he would ensure "ATF and local law enforcement can work together." Odd how Johnson demands cooperation with federal agencies on gun crime but refuses to cooperate with immigration officials to remove even illegals with criminal histories.

Johnson has called on progressives to "resist" and protests and Pritzker has called for "mass protests, mobilization, and disruption." This language is what led to the fatal shooting of an illegal in Franklin Park. The responsibility for any ICE agent who suffers injury is on Johnson and Pritzker.

Like Mayor Lightfoot before him, Johnson appears to use race to deflect blame and attention away from his policy shortcomings. Chicago residents tell me that they don't want anymore excuses, or social engineering. They want real solutions to the violent crime rate and they want the millions in taxpayer dollars that have been misused on migrant vendor management companies and landlords to be returned to resident homeless, elderly and poor communities throughout Chicagoland. Johnson claimed Sacks is attempting to "disrupt the movement" which elected him. Fair enough, but Johnson took it one step further this time. Johnson has used Sacks as a bogeyman before, but Johnson mentioned Sacks' donations to political candidates and one group in particular. AIPAC. Why, we wonder, was AIPAC singled out by Johnson? When told prices have risen in Chicago 7 percent since Johnson became mayor, the mayor froze momentarily and immediately shifted to blame Trump's tariffs. A world-class pivot, Johnson then rambled on for another minute and a half about his throwing money at CPS schools, support for childcare workers, summer jobs programs, affordable housing, mentioned something about fresh water, a diverse economy...............whatever stuck to the wall.
