General Masemola announced the promotion of Major General Thabang Lesia to the rank of Lieutenant General and his appointment as the new Provincial Commissioner of the Free State. Lieutenant General Lesia brings with him 39 years of dedicated and distinguished service, having joined the service as a student constable in 1986. He began his career as a detective and later served as a Detective Commander at Seloseha Police Station in Thaba Nchu, before advancing to the role of Provincial Commander for Organised Crime. Following the retirement of Lt Gen Baile Motswenyane, the position of Provincial Commissioner of the Free State became vacant. We once again extend our sincere gratitude to Lieutenant General Motswenyane for her selfless service and for the leadership she provided in steering the province in the right direction. General Masemola announced the promotion of Major General Thabang Lesia to the rank of Lieutenant General and his appointment as the new Provincial Commissioner of the Free State. Lieutenant General Lesia brings with him 39 years of dedicated and distinguished service, having joined the service as a student constable in 1986. He began his career as a detective and later served as a Detective Commander at Seloseha Police Station in Thaba Nchu, before advancing to the role of Provincial Commander for Organised Crime. He has also served as Station Commander of Virginia Police Station near Welkom at the rank of Colonel and was later promoted to Brigadier as Station Commander of Thabong Police Station in 2010. In 2016, he was promoted to the rank of Major General as Cluster Commander of Mangaung, and in 2019 he was appointed as Deputy Provincial Commissioner responsible for Policing; a position he has held until now. Bitar was photographed wearing a Palestinian keffiyeh in front of a sign reading, “Divest from Israeli Apartheid.” Despite these associations, he plays a critical role in shaping the administration’s intelligence priorities. Malley, whose security clearance was suspended by the FBI, placed Tabatabai in the Department of Defense as Assistant Chief of Staff for the Special Operations Office. In 2014, Tabatabai reportedly emailed Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard, requesting permission to travel on behalf of the U.S. government. A year after these revelations, the Biden-Harris administration has unbelievably allowed Tabatabai to remain in her top role at the Department of Defense, retaining her top-level security clearance.

General NS Raja Subramani, PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM assumed charge as the 3rd Chief of Defence Staff #CDS and Secretary, Department of Military Affairs, this morning. After laying a wreath at the NWM to pay homage to the soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice in service to the nation, he was presented a tri-services Guard of Honour at the South Block of the national capital. A highly decorated officer with over four decades of service, General Raja Subramani was commissioned into the Garhwal Rifles in December 1985. His distinguished career includes a number of key Command and Staff appointments including General Officer Commanding 2 Corps, GOC-in-C Central Command and the Vice Chief of Army Staff. Prior to assuming the appointment of CDS, he served as Military Adviser at the National Security Council Secretariat. The General officer acknowledged the exemplary leadership and contribution of his illustrious predecessors and pledged to build upon their achievements. He expressed his gratitude to the Nation for the trust reposed in the Armed Forces and said that the Armed Forces would work in unison with all stakeholders as part of Whole of Nation Approach to further strengthen National Security. He stated that he would work towards enhancing Jointness, Integration and Synergy in the Armed Forces and focus on accelerated development, induction and integration of indigenous weapons to achieve Atmanirbharta. For the first time, the First Corps Azov of the National Guard of Ukraine and the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine conducted joint command post exercises with the support of the Security Assistance Group–Ukraine (SAG-U).
