What’s embarrassing is your interpretation of what happened. Cooks never lost control of the ball until it was stripped AFTER he is down. He has no other mysterious requirement to meet. People keep showing cases where the ball is clearly loose on the way down.

H I m being touched while down with the ball in his possession is more than enough to rule down by contact.. he wouldve survived the ground had the defender not put his arm in and taken it... touching him while he is down...he doesnt need to be a runner.

No you can just as easily argue that Cooks DID complete the final process of the catch since he had control while his body hit the ground. Too much time passed between him having control on the ground and the defender taking the ball away for it not to be a catch.

Thank you for posting this E. The refs got the call right in your Ravens game, the Denver/ Buffalo game AND on a similar (but not exact) play in my Bears game who lost to the Rams. Also, had the Bills not given Denver 13 points thru THEIR turnovers in regulation, the BILLS WIN & there's NO OT, NO CONTROVERSY & ironically Bo Nix doesn't fracture his foot!🏈👍👍

Bilbo Baggins: When a Life Is Stretched to Its Limit There is a line spoken by Bilbo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings that has stayed with me: “I’m old, Gandalf. I know I don’t look it, but I’m beginning to feel it in my heart. I feel thin, sort of stretched, like butter that has been scraped over too much bread.” At first, this might sound like nothing more than the complaint of someone who has lived too long. But what caught my attention was not that Bilbo says he is old. It is the way he describes that feeling: “I feel thin.” He does not say that he is in pain. He says that he is being stretched. And from there, I began to see this line as an image of a being carrying a burden greater than the scope of an ordinary life. This is my personal interpretation. Tolkien does not directly present a concept of “capacity” or “the elasticity of a life” in the way I am using those ideas here. I am simply taking Bilbo’s own image of “butter and bread” and using it to look more deeply into the feeling he is describing. Too Much Bread and Too Little Butter If I had to imagine that feeling through another image, I would think of a balloon. When it is in its natural state, it has a certain shape. As the pressure increases, it begins to stretch. It has not burst. But it is no longer in its original state. And I think Bilbo is much the same. He has possessed the Ring for sixty years. Yet what is remarkable is that, after all that time, Bilbo is still Bilbo. He still loves the Shire, loves Bag End, cares about Frodo, writes books, smokes, and talks with Gandalf. Here is both the sideline and end zone view of the big miss from Hurts to AJ in the loss to the Broncos My thoughts on the play: ** AJ definitely slows up. If he doesn’t I’m not sure it is completed but it has a much better chance to be a TD. But no question him slowing up was a big reason why it wasn’t completed. ** Hurts holds onto the ball a tick longer than he should have, a theme in the game. I don’t think that is why it is incomplete but it didn’t help. ** I think AJ slowed up because he felt the ball wasn’t coming since he was already so far down the field and it hadn’t been thrown yet. Really hope this doesn't make it into 2K27. This is obviously offline against the AI, but the same thing happens online as well. You beat the defender clean but end up in a bump steal animation. All that happens is, the defender inadvertently knocks the ball loose at the tail end of the contact animation. They aren't actually trying to steal it... it's just that any contact with the ball from the defender seems to end up triggering this. The idea makes sense, but it's obviously flawed in certain scenarios. This is why that patch that so many people praised was reversed. Sure you could probably get a steal in a situation like this in real life, but that's not what this is, so please don't present that disingenuous argument. #NBA2K26

This is a freaking disgrace and needs to be called out! After reading Rule 5.09(a)(1), I do not believe TJ Friedl caught this ball. If a player drops the ball upon falling, it is not a catch. What's worse, he would have known he dropped it, yet chose not to make that clear...

This American has been on the ground helping Hurricane Helene victims in North Carolina, he describes what’s currently happening - FEMA and just about every insurance agency has denied almost everyone's claim - They're closing all the shelters because they think they're not needed.
