Finishing at full speed is a skill — not a given. This drill has players pick the ball off the ground first. Forces odd angles + acceleration out of uncomfortable positions. Game-like from the jump. Train finishing the way it actually happens in games.

ESPN NFL 2K5 is still the king of ball trajectory in the passing game. EA has never been able to replicate this: a high lob pass that drops into the receiver's hands, only where the receiver can catch it, and the defender is unable to jump it. Show me Madden doing this...

Here is both the sideline and end zone view of the big miss from Hurts to AJ in the loss to the Broncos My thoughts on the play: ** AJ definitely slows up. If he doesn’t I’m not sure it is completed but it has a much better chance to be a TD. But no question him slowing up was a big reason why it wasn’t completed. ** Hurts holds onto the ball a tick longer than he should have, a theme in the game. I don’t think that is why it is incomplete but it didn’t help. ** I think AJ slowed up because he felt the ball wasn’t coming since he was already so far down the field and it hadn’t been thrown yet. To me that is probably the result of frustration from that happening a lot this season as opposed to solely on this play. ** Bottom line is this has to be a TD. This isn’t a backup QB to a No. 3 WR. This is Hurts to AJ. They needed the play and it didn’t get it done. ** Most concerning part of the play to me isn’t that it was incomplete. That is bad but it will happen. To me the most concerning part is they didn’t talk on the sideline afterwards about it. Bad sign.
