This is untrue. If I teach my child a second language, Im designing it. If I teach it Chess, im designing it. If I teach it to cook, im designing it. (Check Polgar sisters, all 3 chessmasters designed by their parents because he wanted to prove it can be done, and he did).

I believe he is speaking about parents that wan't to totally control their children. Of course environments are important. Do your best but understand that God made each child as a beautiful individual that will have their own likes and desires and dreams. You should guide them instead of control them.

No this is wrong , the environment you raise your children in matters greatly. This is very bad information.

Teach your children Who *really* designed them, and teach them to love their Designer, who loves them more than they'll ever be able to comprehend.

You do get to design your children by selecting who you have children with. Having kids with a bunch of third world people with IQs 20 to 60 points lower than your own is a choice.

He is correct and incorrect. What's different today is the sheer amount of interactive stimulus available to children, should parents allow it. For instance, children, if given the choice, will sit for extended periods of time flicking through short videos, often spending less than half a second per video. This environment does not allow for boredom to take hold and I fear that it will have long term impacts on their development.

Over 4 decades of raising children and I know this!! Ffs I knew it when I was 8 yrs old babysitting others kids and raising my younger brothers!! I’m in my late 40s and this saddens me to watch and know too many don’t understand this!!

this is slop parents must be present and be the first and foremost caregivers for their kids there’s no better stimulus than true parental love children need education education doesn’t mean school

Yeah, ya know what we've learned over the last 20 years about kids that can be boiled down to one sentence? Sparing the rod and spoiling the child has RUINED more than two generations of kids! Get a freakin' grip on reality ya bozo. It's these academics that have brainwashed and psychologically crippled American kids and yet you're still listening to them. This guy is the problem.

I’m betting when the dust settles it’s going to be very close to 50% nature 50% nurture. Someone like Charles Manson was a product of his environment. It’s as much of a stretch to say environment doesn’t shape personality as it is to say a kid is a blank slate.

No. His highly-caffeinated speech reeks of irresponsibility. Lead a child in (their "bent") the way he/she should go... BTW, their "bent" means what God designed them for.

It shouldn’t, because this guy is a liar. Environment is the BIGGEST factor in determining how your child will develop and either fail or succeed. To say that it’s all out of our hands as parents is ridiculous and not supported by science.

Propaganda BS! The first 7 years of a child's life is a sponge. What a parent offers that child in those first 7 yrs, will affect their entire future. Love, many languages, social skills, reading, writing, math, growing food, is a good start. Manners, morals, & spirituality.

This may be true to a degree. However, parents who allow their kids to be jabbed 72 times with untested vaccines, feed them garbage, and put them in front of screens all day, should feel some guilt when things go wrong.

There is some truth in his statement about stimulation - there are diminishing benefits. But his hands-off advice on parenting is advice on how to raise little pricks. Children need boundaries on their behavior and consequences for bad behavior. Saying they are going to turn out the way their genes direct them no matter what you do is drivel.

The environment that you raise your children absolutely can impact their outcomes. We can’t control our child’s decisions but we can teach them right from wrong and raise them in an environment filled with love, integrity, encouragement and values.

A good Sheppard sets a good example for his sheep. They set boundaries for their sheep. They lead their sheep to green pastures. And they don't allow their sheep to wander off. Parents, set a good example for your kids (they learn more by watching you than they do by what you tell them). Set healthy boundaries for them when they are young and bring them back with love and care when they wander off. And raise your children in an environment that fosters their God given innate interests and abilities - whatever they may be.

Upbringing is important... Teaching manners and morals is important... Giving children life lessons and discipline is important... Right from wrong... Good from bad... Dangerous from safe... You can't tell me you don't get to design your child if you teach them nothing at all!!!

Guy may be right. But whenever I see a video that adds “emotional” music in the background, my brain can’t avoid to immediately tag it as bull 💩. Maybe that’s one of the 400 psychological traits that I ‘ve developed…

I think today's parents are more cut-off .. as the phone has replaced almost every other source of information.. You still need to learn hardwork & focus.. Today children shun hardwork & lack focus... The rise & fall of civilizations .. cannot be genetics.. Its NURTURE & NATURE ... just NATURE IS NOT ENOUGH..

Agreed You CAN influence what they learn, things they learn, a lot of behavior In the end, they are a unique person I've definitely learned this over 21 yrs with a son & a daughter They develop in some ways I am blind sided by, and others that are completely of our parenting

I'm sure he's probably right that you can't design your kids, but now I do feel weirdly compelled to confess I regularly played Mozart when I was pregnant and raised two extraordinary math geniuses.

Children aren’t blank slates — but speaking in absolutes about parenting is misleading. • Parents don’t design a child’s soul, personality, or destiny. • But they deeply shape how that child develops. • Moral compass, sense of safety, empathy, emotional regulation — these are relational, not genetic. • Parents are not engineers or owners — they are guardians, nurturers, protectors. • A child carries their own nature, but depends on the environment they grow up in. Children are born with their own nature — but they bloom through the love and presence of those who raise them.

Parenting a child is not “designing the child” and it is definitely not “engineering your child.” Teaching one’s child needs to be every parent’s priority.

The only exception to his words is the parental CHOICE to VACCINATE their child. Don't do it! It's an injurious SCAM! I learned this the difficult way!

What about school… religious leaders, teachers… or peer group that’s tearing the child in every direction? Gender, history, mathematics, religion, drug use, etc. As a parent, you better keep shit on lockdown or you’re just an afterthought and will lose that precious child
