This imam in Texas doesn’t think the TX Governor has the authority to designate CAIR as a FTO. He’s been hosting CAIR at his mosque and defying what is now Texas Law.

"This imam" is correct on what he says here. Abbott does not have the authority to designate CAIR as an FTO. "Foreign Terrorist Organization" is a specific federal designation under the Immigration and Nationality Act. Only the U.S. Secretary of State can make it, after consulting the Attorney General and Treasury Secretary and notifying Congress. States do not have that power. Texas can pass its own laws and issue its own proclamations. That is not the same as an FTO listing. Under current Texas law, hosting CAIR at a mosque is not, by itself, a violation of that proclamation.

Governor Abbott has done nothing to stop CAIR in the state and it is getting to be scary how much they’re getting away with that Abbott is doing nothing about except he did jump on those foot washing stations in the airport right away.
