Makes no difference when there’s far too many people all going for the same appointments in overcrowded surgery’s. Same problem, just moved online. As always, never deal with the root cause

𝐀 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐄𝐎 𝐢𝐬 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐓𝐡𝐞 ‘𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑪𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒔 𝑯𝒆𝒓𝒐’ Americans of all political affiliation suddenly woke up realize they agree that their healthcare system is inherently cruel and produces unnecessary misery. ★ NEW ARTICLE ⬇️

What about elderly patients who don’t have access to the internet or don’t know how to use it?

Lots of OAPs don't use the internet. Why do Labour detest old people so much, ffs?

I’m sure all the pensioners who don’t use the internet will be pleased.

They've tried this 🙄 Never enough appointments so it was ended and appts triaged

It’s not a new online booking system at all. He just can’t stop lying. We have been able to book telephone or face to face appointments for ages via the NHS App.

This has been in place for a while so I suspect that implementation started way before this Gov was in office. And to be clear all it's done is move the 'scrabble for appts' from 8am to 7.30am on line. God help those that are not computer savvy! You have to be quick before max e-applications received and it's cut off. Our Surgery listened to patients in a recent follow up survey and have extended e-posting to early afternoon (held some appts back). I hope other Surgeries will do same otherwise it won't make any difference to early morning appointment lottery!

What about the 8am turn up to hospital for a routine, only to find out you're sitting there till midday because you're last on the list? Try fixing that one too.

How will this help older people who cannot engage with technology , assuming they can afford the laptops and WIFI connections in the first place?

Online is not available for a lot of elderly, what happens then? Already reports of doctors receptions turning phone callers away and referring them to online.

We have an online booking system already. Most do. Does he not know this?It constantly says not working as too busy. They can shut this down also

Drs surgeries & hospital waiting rooms that are EMPTY whenever you go in ? Staff stood around gassing & drinking coffee ? Show a sense of urgency & professionalism maybe ? What a joke.

Nah, just more Labour lies.

Shame it won't work because we've got millions of unwanted fake asylum seekers and economic migrants here who jump the queue

He’s not centre left he’s that far left he’s lapped himself

This is the very worst thing that’s happen at my & others @AwcModality surgery’s. There’s not a single person I know who’s happy or prefers it, thousands of vunerable & elderly are now going without apts. They decide if you need an app or not & NO you can’t ring/go in to book!

What about the elderly oh that won't matter as their assisted dying bill will get rid of the majority of them.

This is not necessary. It just needs @wesstreeting to read the Riot Act to GPs and @TheBMA My surgery takes calls at any time of the working day and offers appointments at any time from the same day to weeks hence. The doctors’ philosophy is to provide a service to patients.

What a load of crap doctors don't do a full week too many woke liberals not like the old school doctors who earned thier wage

It doesn’t alter the fact that we have far too many people in this country and not enough healthcare provision. Lots of practises, including my own, already do online booking system and have for years.

I want walk-ins again!! 👍

We need more Gps and practice nurses. They need more time to see patients. Reception staff need more resources and recognition. The government is taking the money of the people and giving it away. Meanwhile cancer goes unchecked as people can’t see a gp until 6w time. Stop coming up with stupid ideas and start making a difference by actually doing what is necessary.

Bout bloody time. The trump influence .. just so he can take some good news to the USA! Then he’ll get back and renege on it all.

Is this another way of killing off elderly pensioners who have no internet or are unable to use it? More ageism from the Labour Party. Why don’t they just kill off everyone over the age of 70? It’s what they’re aiming for.

I agree however would have no faith in Labour delivering on this. They would somehow manage to get religion, gender or political leaning into the process.

Digital I.d through the back door.

Our surgery has had the online booking system for years, so he can stop making it sound like he invented it! Also we still struggle to get an appointment.

Is this the “online booking system” whereby if I put down one symptom, it told me to go to the pharmacy; if I put down another, it told me to go to A&E? When I phoned the surgery to complain I actually want a GP appointment as follow up to an A&E appointment for my symptoms, I was told I should have put “other”. It’s ridiculous that patients are meant to be able to use an IT system they are not trained in.

Whoever came up with the 8 am booking scramble idea should be sacked I didn’t realise for a long time it was a national policy not just my local surgery absolute stupidity

For about the tenth time🙇♂️

Unhelpful for older people

Bless him, I think he's trying his best, but these are not new reforms. 🙄 Last year, my GP surgery, which lists the names of about 24 GPs and a similar number of nurses, ANPs etc, stopped providing appointments over the phone. I now have to complete an online form (symptoms,/degree of pain etc) with the less than encouraging comment that they will 'try and get back to me within 10 days'. I'm old enough to remember #IOETR 🤭 when you turned up to GP surgery, sat down, and waited in the queue to be seen. Doors were closed when all seats were taken. Yes it was a scramble, but I didn't have to wait 10 days only to be told to ring 111 for advice.

online, removing the ability to call, just like wth councils!

We already have it at our Surgery.

Get rid of all the foreigners and the lists will go down
