Agreed… NO means NO at any age! Tell your sons that they must respect women and not push the boundaries once NO is said that’s it and that’s all!

True, that’s a father’s job. And mother’s need to teach their daughters to respect and protect their sexuality. You don’t get to get drunk and take ketamine at frat parties, engage in 3somes, perform sex acts on passed out men and then think drunk men will magically not engage.

I was with you until you said: "We must raise young men who understand that it is not enough to simply do no harm. They must also be willing to speak up when they see others being harmed." Personally, I am not going to speak out and I don't want to be pressured to do so.

Honestly, this video got me thinking about something a lot of parents probably don’t talk about enough: sleepovers. You might know and trust the family your child is visiting. You might even be very close to the parents. But the truth is, you may not know or trust every single person who lives in that house or who might have access to your child. It could be an older sibling, a relative, a family friend, a visitor or simply someone you never imagined could hurt a child. And this isn’t just about girls. Boys can be sexually abused too. We need to teach both our sons and daughters how to recognise inappropriate behaviour and speak up. Children should be taught early: Nobody has the right to touch their private parts or ask them to touch someone else’s. They can say NO, even to an older person or someone they know and trust. Nobody should ask them to keep sexual touching, conversations, pictures or secrets from their parents. If someone makes them uncomfortable, they should get away and tell a trusted adult. If the first person they tell doesn’t believe them, they should keep telling until someone listens. They should know that they will not be punished or blamed for telling you about inappropriate behaviour. And parents, don’t just tell your child, “Don’t let anyone touch you.” Talk to them. Give them examples they can understand. Teach them what to do if someone crosses a boundary. Let them practise saying “NO,” leaving the situation and calling you for help. Most importantly, make yourself a safe person to tell. If your child thinks you’ll beat them, blame them, shame them, or ask why they were there in the first place, they may keep quiet, and silence is exactly what an abuser can take advantage of. We shouldn’t raise children to be afraid of the world. We should raise them to understand their bodies, recognise unsafe behaviour, set boundaries, and know that they can always come to us and speak. A sleepover isn’t automatically dangerous, but trusting a family doesn’t mean you automatically know and trust everyone around that child. Protecting our children starts with supervision, awareness, and giving them the confidence and language to speak up.
