On a holiday night, foreign military aircraft approached China's territorial airspace in multiple organized waves under the pretext of “exercises.” Pilot Ding Xiaochuan of a PLA Air Force aviation brigade, together with his wingman, female pilot Rui Pingfan, closely coordinated and successfully drove off the intruding aircraft.

Early aviation wasn't built by people who gave up the first time a breeze turned their aircraft into a lawn ornament. During the opening of an airshow at Haldon Aerodrome, pilot A.H.C. Rowson was landing the Cierva C.19 prototype (G-AAGL) when a wind gust flipped it upside down. The aircraft was written off, but Rowson was uninjured.

This video has been doing the rounds today. Many saying the landing was scary and the pilot would be getting a coffee-less chat with their Chief Pilot. None of these people know what they’re talking about!! High winged aircraft use a different crosswind landing technique when compared to other airliners. They fly using a ‘wing down’ technique and not one where the aircraft flies nose into wind. This technique means that often the upwind wing is lower than downwind, and the upwind main gear often touches down first. In my view, and I’ve done a few of these, this is a text book wing down landing. Good job. #aviation #pilotlife #pilot #FactsNotClickbait

This has to be the first Airbus A350 power back. I'm just curious why the pilot used the reverser instead of waiting for a tow truck. Since this was an incident, shouldn't they have left the aircraft as it was for the authorities to clear it first?

Icelandair pilot under investigation after flying at a low altitude over the town of Vestmannaeyjar on Saturday. The Boeing 757 was on a scheduled flight from Frankfurt when the pilot on his last flight went on a sightseeing flight over his childhood home in the Westman Islands without the knowledge or permission of the company. Chief Flight Officer at Icelandair Linda Gunnarsdóttir said in a statement, "This is just a very serious matter that we will look into here internally. It's just the case in aviation that everything is very rigid in work processes, checklists and other things like that, what we do in normal passenger flights, and it doesn't fall within that framework." Linda says she expects passengers to have been informed about the sightseeing flight, but she cannot say that yet. She is also unable to comment at this time on the consequences for the pilot, who is leaving the company. The matter is, as previously stated, under consideration by the company.

A China Eastern pilot used the A350's thrust reverser to reverse the aircraft on the bay as it hit the jet bridge. Using the thrust reverser of an A350 to reverse the aircraft would be the first time I have seen this. 2 May 2026, Shanghai Airport. Why did he use the thrust reverser twice? Why not just set the brake after the first time?
