Ajax training this week featured this Combination Passing Practice: Up Back Through Variation Practice Description This technical combination practice is designed to develop passing quality, positional awareness, timing of movement and communication. The outside players will always complete two passes around the outside before transferring the ball through the central area (Adapt as it progresses). As the ball enters the middle, the two central players combine using an up back through pattern. Both central players must continually assess the movement of the ball, adjust their positioning and prepare early to receive. Play is limited to one or two touches to encourage efficient ball circulation. Following the central combination, the player who sets the ball rotates into the outside position. The player who initially passes into the central area moves inside to continue the sequence. A Liverpool first team training session vs an academy session. The two sessions are structured almost identically, with small tweaks to reflect the levels. This is advantageous for a number of tactical and technical reasons, but specifically in terms of physical load monitoring. Using our technology, academy and first team coaches can seamlessly monitor and access academy players’ physical data as they move from the academy set up to the first team. With such similarly designed training sessions, theoretically, it makes the young players’ transition to the first team easier and limits blind spots in terms of load monitoring.

Football can burn you out fast. The energy and focus you need to give to your role, especially as you climb higher, is enormous. One thing the best managers seem to do really well is bring fresh energy into their environment, or recognize when it's time to refresh it. Manchester City this season is a great example. Pep Guardiola towards the end of last season openly admitted he's feeling tired, but if you look at his staff recruitment this summer, he's clearly brought in new energy that's now helping to drive training forward. At the top level, or any level the energy from the coaching staff is crucial. Agree or disagree — coaches energy is vital to set the training tone?

One thing the best managers seem to do really well is bring fresh energy into their environment, or recognize when it's time to refresh it. Manchester City this season is a great example. Pep Guardiola towards the end of last season openly admitted he's feeling tired, but if you look at his staff recruitment this summer, he's clearly brought in new energy that's now helping to drive training forward.
