To clarify: I actually LOVE how ugly these are! They're EXTREMELY EFFECTIVE ads (at making these affiliates lots of money at the expense of the brands). Most brands SHOULD study the way these ads are shot, edited, etc and think about how to emulate those elements. The problem is brands shouldn't be encouraging, celebrating, or incentivizing this type of *messaging* about their products. There's a longer-term cost to this type of messaging that teaches customers to only expect discounts and it's not really measurable...
