Firstly, I’m sure they must have provoked the animal somehow. Then, by their continuos screaming they aggravated the issue. And the pleasure on their faces when the animal was shot was sadistic. How can such tourists be prevented from entering wildlife corridors ?

I would have been happy to get the photo (not video) of a running rhino with all 4 hoofs in the air. Why scream as long as you are driving at 41km per hour? Rhino PEAK speed for 2 minutes is 40km. I make sure such noisy people are not in my jeep. Kaziranga is low cost too

Imagine going in to their territory, taunt them, provoke them, make them react and run behind vehicle and finally shoot at them (hope it’s rubber bullet). What’s the fault of poor animal or who Df behaves like monster here? People who have no love towards wildlife are mostly occupying the position as far as I’ve seen. Though many of them value wildlife and love their job others come just like that for govt job. A forest officer in Kerala was literally seeing idiots throwing water bottle in to pristine water falls and not even stopping them even after I urge them to take action.

In my village of Silghat in Assam , we are at the banks of Brahmaputra and I am from an Ahom village .. it is taught to us since childhood to be silent around the animals and respect them. Since Kaziranga is very close to our village , during floods it is very common for us to have Rhinos & Tigers , deers swimming across to our village.

I can imagine. I have had several close quarter encounters with rhinos while i have been on foot. You be quiet. Absolutely quiet and they do nothing. They love silence!

Well , my Putha ( Ahom term for paternal grandfather ) used to drill in me survival tactics early on. Running or screaming was never in it , even after being bitten by a snake or a scorpion. Was told to just tie a tourniquet above the bite and walk slow and calm towards home. I used to run around the paddy fields a lot. Herds of elephants used to cross through Maut Gaon our village , we used to go dark ( turn off all lights , lamps ) and hunker down in silence. As for Tigers and Rhinos … well I was told to spot early on especially during foggy mornings. I used to cycle to my math Tuitions. Once these two spot you … it’s anyone’s guess. Running jig-jag only sounds good in theory.

Please keep a unified register of all the visitors all over the nation and blacklist these morons. These should not be anywhere near wild animals. The guy taking the video should be given up police treatment.

Well the guide/driver with them has to tell them to be silent before he starts the tour. And if not then, at least when they start screaming like lunatics he has to intervene. They are in the forest for God's sake not on a roller coaster.

Absolutely right sir! Our guides and drivers become docile for getting tips at the end of the safari. They need to be trained and paid well so that they become strict & true supervisors of the safari ride! You are bang on!

Tourists should be given proper instructions of Do’s/Donts & if they fail to comply with any of the instructions as in the video above, they should be fined heavily 10K per person for violating reserve rules &entry banned thereafter in any park/ reserve

Although their eyesight is poor, rhinos are extremely sensitive to noise and movement and this one was triggered by what it considered a threat. The driver should have told the passengers to shut up and sit down (could be thrown out at speed) whilst he moved quietly away.
