Yes! During the 2021 freeze @HEB did the same thing

A burger restaurant where I live did that. A sign said their entire system was down, and as I was driving away, but still in the parking lot, a man came out and shouted they’ll still give me food. Everyone who came in got a free meal.

They’re good people in that location. We go there a lot. They really do treat everyone like family, and everyone in the community has made it a point to shop for all their last minute items there since this happened a couple days ago

The issue I see with this is people trying to grab more items as if they were going to buy them. Because it’s “free”.

HEB is a blessing to Texas. They put their communities and Texas first, and they are always super helpful and kind--to both the customers and each other.

@HEB is the best. I sometimes drive to a different city, past at least twenty other grocery stores, to shop there and grab a few things only HEB carries.

This HEB and it's management are amazing!! We shop this store often. After battling power outages and issues with the store, they said this is the least that they could do to thank their customers for sticking with them! Love the city i live in!!

I worked for HEB. Hands down the best employer I ever had !

I wish other large retailers would take note. Whatever those groceries cost the company, they have earned a store full of lifetime loyal customers. On top of that, word of mouth (including this video) is priceless. Very few advertising campaigns would have this big of ROI.

They did this during the 2021 Winter Storm in Central Texas. The power kept going on and off.

Annnnnnnd… FIRED! If I were the corporate office and saw this I would IMMEDIATELY send a replacement manager, or go myself, and fire this woman on the spot and close the store until the POS systems were working again. Of course, there could be something behind the scenes that better explains her actions, but that’s not what were shown. We’re just shown her complete carelessness in costing the company THOUSANDS of dollars, lost inventory, potential fraud and malfeasance. Because there is no way to track what’s going out the door, it is a free-for-all for customer AND STAFF to load up items and steal them out the front door. The store manager also now can write-off truly stolen items as having been covered by this apparent give-away which is FRAUD against @HEB corporate. Moreover, if the Butt family is allowing this chain-wide then they may be perpetrating a conspiracy of fraud (RICO) under the guise of “charity.” This may require the @US_FDA @TheJusticeDept @PamBondi @AGPamBondi @USDA and even @HHSGov @SecKennedy looking into @HEB Wellness’ business practices.

Corporate will definitely have questions about this? 🇺🇸

The system at our Trader Joe’s went down this summer. So everyone had to leave and leave all their food behind. They should’ve done this!
