Meanwhile the millions in govt go missing. Money that should have been put into a proper investment for people's retirements. What social security pays for a life time of contributions is obscene. You can walk in though from any port and get more freebies than a person who has worked in the country for decades.

I know it breaks my heart

I will sum it up for everyone. This gentleman was working there because he anted to, he enjoyed working rather than just sitting at home for his final time. There was also a fundraiser setup but he refused all the money. So don’t believe everything without knowing the full story.

There are also people who have tried retiring and decided they felt disconnected, so they went back to work.

Actually that is cause the government took social security for 40 to 50 years, but when the government is supposed to give it back they tax it and give you the same money you paid, but with zero interest. If the money went into the market instead of Social security he would have 20 million dollars. Government is stealing generations of wealth.

It’s very sad. I opened up my own retirement plan over 30 years ago bc I worked for myself. Now I’m comfortably retired. Schools should teach investing for retirement instead!

Honest question did anyone talk to him or just post this? It may also be true he doesn't like just sitting at home and being out makes his day better. Not saying that is the most likely reason but it is a common one I hear from people who are elderly and still working.

He prolly bored as shit at home and just workin to stay busy.

@KathleenWinche3 Maybe he works part time to be around other people than sitting at home alone.

That guy will be me in about 10-15 years.

Or, hear me out... they guy likes to work and it keeps him busy. My Dad was like that. He didnt need to work but he had a job until a few month before he died. He just liked being productive.

Sometimes they want to work. Try not to make assumptions.

These are the kind of people that, if I were rich, I would make sure were taken care of. Truly sad!

I'd rather be working at that age than just sat in a retirement home praying for a quick death

Did anyone ask him if he's working because he needs the money or because he's lonely, his wife passed and he needed something to do? This video could mean a thousand things. Most of the elderly go back to work because they are bored and alone.

How do you know his history? My grandma worked up till she passed cause she was lonely after my grandpa passed. Theres a lady at Walmart that has retired from a couple jobs and def doesn’t need the money she said she just likes being around other people

Just maybe he is still working to keep himself busy and alive and meeting people. Sitting home alone all the time will kill you almost as fast as a jealous husband.

This could be the reason he gets up. A lot of older people feel isolated and lonely. They have no visitors. Their friends have passed away. So maybe he wants the social interaction. Maybe he wants to feel needed. Maybe he just like McDonald's. Who are we to judge.

Or maybe because our social security is being given away to illegals.

And some people are spending his tax dollars on $3000 EBT cards and dancing about it online.

Yup…This could easily be you one day and hopefully somebody records you to prove an obvious point.

Or…it gets him out of the house among people who enjoy his company. He exercises like the doctors recommend. Co-workers check on him. Customers respect him. He gets paid no matter what. Always at work on time, every day, without a cellphone and mouth. Where are the others?

There can be dignity and value in work. We have an older gentleman at our local store, around that age and is bent over in a similar way. He's a bagger. His wife died a number of years ago, he doesn't have many family members close and he likes to keep busy and talk to folk.

You’d be shocked at how many of them actually want to work. My grandpa’s sister worked until they literally forced her to stop because she physically couldn’t do it anymore. They get extremely bored and lonely at this age. Sometimes they just enjoy feeling helpful/wanted.

I know a quite a few elder people that could have retired but chose not to because they enjoy what they do and it keeps them moving. They don’t want to sit in the recliner for the remaining years of their lives

Just so you know, I could be wrong, but he may be working because he wants to. I didn't understand that myself when I was younger. Now that I am retired myself I get it. If I didn't have my part-time job to go to everyday I think I'd go nuts.

@KathleenWinche3 Most seniors in the workforce of this age in America is because they have nothing else. A lot have lost their spouse or entire families and have nothing but a tv to watch. They want to do something to be around people. Don’t video them. Go have a conversation. They have a lot to

Bullshit. I know old dudes just like this that refuse to retire and places like McD's will still offer them a job. Beats being at home with the wife!

but lets just give a trillion dollars to the military , after they have lost 7 trillion.....

Heartbreaking what life does to people not lucky enough to break free before the end of their days… Remember this man when you youngkins put $50-$100/month away every year for 40 years. Reality is that 50%+ of Americans retire with less than $5000 in savings, and another 25% retire hand to mouth. 30 years of insurance and mortgages and one of the saddest days was going to an old man’s home in Birdtown, a neighborhood in Lakewood Ohio where all 7-8 street were named after birds. Small, but well built and all were well groomed. I had to go to his home to give him his disbursement check for his wife’s insurance policy. The total was about $870. It was an industrial policy from the 50’s… 25¢/week for $1000 of death benefit. The check was impressive, just as it would look if printed for $80,000, without the added places. He stared at it, and this 92 year old man started to cry. The reality of it all was sinking in! He asked me if this was all there was. He had spent $5000 burying his wife, and had very little left. It was one of the most difficult moments in my career. Heart wrenching. He deserved more love, more grace, and more comfort. I pray he found it in his remaining years. My first few months on the job. I studied numbers and personal finance and it has gotten worse. Because EVERYTHING is so great in cost, it is very easy to lose your house on taxes, upkeep, illness, or embezzlement. That story was 1984. Now there aren’t many agents in financial planning. Most everyone just buys online. What a country! I believe President Trump is going to correct many of the pitfalls in owning your home. May God help him to accomplish all than he is able to do. Give him a break. We’ve elected him with a landslide mandate. He’s been in office 19 months, 33 days. He’s the beautiful white stallion you ride in on! Now feed him, give him water, grooming, a great farrier, and for GOD’s sake, give him confidence, support, and prayer. You’re as stupid as a road apple if you think you can change now! Mankind has waited 30,000+ years for this opportunity. It’s not going to stop now. In the timeline of the human race, we are but moments from the great awakening. They’ve stopped telling most of you moof’s. Ignorance, retardation and mental illness abound. Y’all got all the love, compassion, and understanding of a snake. If you’ve got nothing good to say… just SHUT THE F@$K UP, AND “GO LAY BY YOUR DISH!” The U.S. MILITARY HAS BEEN IN CHARGE SINCE 2017‼️🇺🇸 Do you believe they are going to LOSE THIS BATTLE? Rats can be difficult feisty animals. Think they’re going to beat a 450lb Bengal Tiger? Then SHUT UP, READ A BOOK OR WATCH SOMETHING USELESS ON TV, BECAUSE THE DIE IT IS LAID, THE CURSE IT IS CAST, THE SLOW ONE NOW, WILL LATER BE FAST, FOR THE TIMES THEY ARE A CHANGING‼️🇺🇸 ✝️

Dude I’m not living this long .. I don’t want to be 80 and still working

This statement may be true or he works because of his pride not letting him. Some seniors go to work to have a purpose to stay alive. Once you retire, within a few years. Your n7mber will get called.

This is so fucking sad also so fucked up to film him, such a shithole we live in fuck this world

Possibly (and super sad if true) and another possibility - he might actually enjoy working. Lots of retired people work part time just stay active and feel useful.
