It's called a rotary cam limit switch and lots of old industrial automation process used them as well.

Any bets on whether it was all manufactured in the USA? Today it's $1.00 worth of parts manufactured in China they charge $500 to replace.

I ground the cams on mine so it lit only one bulb at a time.

I had a 1964 ford thunderbird and it looked like a turn table in the trunk that controlled the tail lights

I love that. Analog methods. I work a lot with relays and timers on hvac and I’m real excited to analog program stuff for my kids tree house.

And your 1967 sequential turn signal would have worked just fine after that massive EMP wiped out modern car electronics.

I wish they made things like this still instead of how they make them now.

I can literally hear the electrical wind with my sound off. Been around too many Mercury Cougars to know that distinct sound 🤣

Friend of mine had a 1970 Cougar. Those effing tail lights were a constant pain in the ass

Clever tech. But they look as stupid as modern day strobing indicators/turn signals do.

I had a '69 Eliminator. I believe it was original and it had the SCR type control board in it. It never did work well.
