This is how a v8 engine consumes fuel

Fake news, it doesn't get great fuel mileage, but it certainly doesn't consume fuel this quickly while driving. Even at 10 MPG 60 MPH, it would burn a gallon of fuel in 6 minutes...this is a quart in seconds...

That looked like possibly a throttle body on there, so it’s fuel injected. Somewhere there’s a return line that would go back to the tank. Not all that fuel is injected and burned.

I’ve driven around on a Gatorade bottle. At that rate you wouldn’t have made it out of the parking lot.

That’s a solid 9 feet to the gallon.

You're stupid beyond redemption if you believe this. That's 1.5L bottle and it takes 0:37 to see it go down. So assuming it takes 40 seconds to consume 1 litres of fuel. How many litres do you have in a fuel tank?😄

I don’t believe this is a fully accurate illustration because it only shows half the transaction. Yes, it may suck that much fuel but it doesn’t burn that much fuel. I believe most fuel systems also have a return tube which flows all the unburned fuel back into the fuel tank.

My V8 gets about 20mpg and is 550hp

I was going to call bs on this one, as I've owned big block V8s from back in the day that didn't drink fuel like that, although they were still pretty terrible on mpg. But then I remembered an old 5.3 V12 Jaguar that I once owned. I took it for a 145mph blast in the early hours on a long straight road, and at one point the trip computer read 3 mpg! I was doing almost 2.5 miles per minute so that big cat was guzzling a UK gallon every 72 seconds, or 60 seconds for a US gallon. So yeah, it is possible to dump unfeasibly large quantities of fuel through a road going engine, but I certainly never buy big Jags for the economy, only the fun!

I own this truck This is ford excursion 6.8 L v10 2005 🇺🇸 burning the hell of ⛽️ gasoline more than that

First of all "V8" has nothing to do with this and second if that would be normal consumption for an engine y'all couldn't leave your drive way.

Where’s the fuel return pipe? This is basically a fuel pump test, not a fuel consumption test.

Nope! This is just bad engine. Normal v8 not do this

This is how much fuel a 500 cubic inch Top Fuel Hemi consumes at Idle and at Wide Open Throttle. Give or take 17 gallons in 10-15 seconds.

@healthnutritipz That glug glug glug sound is the engine drinking its protein 🤣. Thats actually quite mental to see

There's no return line that's why

NHRA top fuel dragster burns 5 gallons of nitro in less than 4 seconds.

@manolo_burumba 👀 es una fosforera ese V8😬

Mine is a V8 5.7 and this is relatable.

This is what happens when you don’t show the fuel return From the Fuel Pump. A lot of fuel is pumped and what is NOT used is returned to the tank. This is NOT an example of what an actual V8 uses.

Before 1minute 1 liter is gone 😱

IF...that was fuel it certainly would not burn at all. Proper and fresh Gasoline, alcohol, and racing fuel are completely clear.

Stop it, you and plastic flecks in bottled water are as^ holes and need to stay in your coffee house think tanks and find another way to finance your trans. reassignment bill.

So are you still going for a V8? 🫠

a powrót do drugiej butelki?

Probably 10 mpg... 😯

So it burn 1L in less than 30 seconds ? So the standard 60L will be gone in 30 minutes without driving just parked engine on ?

Doet mijn V8 ook net als haar baasje… extreem dorstig 1 op emmer.

@DjangoXtra Y'all think we don't know how engines work

Gas is not that color

stupid if you believe this...

You can see the fuel level dropping in real time on the fuel gauge while driving. But people who own high-performance cars don’t really care about fuel consumption. 😬

Not sure if that's a realistic display of fuel consumption. Looks like the engine thinks it's at full load, and the reality is the ECU looks for information on several sensors to achieve max performance at lower guzzling.

Well, why did you show me this? Do you understand? Gasoline tanks are meant not to be seen.

Not for an upcoming
