My take on the MASSIVE US DEBT PROBLEM on @MarioNawful: “There is only one way to fix the US debt problem: to invoke Article V of the US Constitution and amend it to include a debt brake. The Swiss inserted a debt break in their constitution in 2001, with great success.”

"This is a Western sovereign debt issue. Hyperscalers are the bond vigilantes, borrowing at 5-6% in a snake eating its tail dynamic." Luke Gromen on the collision between Big Tech's AI buildout and sovereign debt markets.

I had the chance to talk to one of my favourite macro analyst out there, Luke Gromen, about US/EU relations, how gold is the solution to the G7 debt crisis and how NATO countries are buying up all the silver they can get their hands on. Must watch!

🇺🇸 Every time yields spike, the Treasury reaches for another emergency fix. Macroeconomic analyst Luke Gromen says the buybacks and currency maneuvers are covering a debt problem rather than solving one, and everybody in the bond market can see the difference. High energy prices and foreign policy friction keep pushing long-term yields higher, which means each patch buys less time than the one before it, and Washington ends up back at the same wall a little sooner every round. LUKE GROMEN SAYS HE IS INTERESTED IN BITCOIN AGAIN After selling the majority of his bitcoin position when BTC fell to $96,000, Luke Gromen says the digital asset has caught his attention again. Gromen says he is particularly interested in seeing how Bitcoin reacts to today’s Jackson Hole meeting.

I spoke with Wealthion on the SOLUTION to the US DEBT PROBLEM: “The only way to escape America’s debt crisis is to invoke Article V of the US Constitution and call a limited Constitutional Convention. This would allow for a debt brake amendment to the US Constitution."

Ray Dalio: “Debt problem is followed by devaluation of the currency.” Looks like this is exactly how the US will handle its debt problem. Kevin Warsh’s Fed will peg short-term rates to artificially low levels, and buy treasuries to keep them down, inflating the debt away. We saw this play out in the three decades following World War II, and it’s plausible that the US is preparing for a similar maneuver as Debt/GDP is currently over 120%. This is why central banks are dumping US debt and buying gold instead.

"Insurance companies would rather own Treasuries at 5% all day long than private credit. The fact that they're not tells you the problem is way worse than anybody thinks." Luke Gromen on the hidden crisis at the long end.

🇺🇸 Foreign central banks stopped buying US debt years ago and started buying gold instead. Macroeconomic analyst Luke Gromen says the buyers who replaced them are hedge funds and offshore money, which behave nothing like a central bank does. Patient long-term holders have given way to fast capital that can leave whenever the trade stops working, and funding a growing national debt that way builds volatility into the system rather than stability.
