All Hamas has to do is release the hostages, lay down their arms, and formally recognize Israel's right to exist. Until that happens, every death in Gaza is on their head. If Israel relents before Hamas takes those 3 steps, we'll be back here in a year or so, having the same debate, with a higher body count on both sides.
