This is how startups beat incumbents. Google has 100s of people technically responsible for Nest Hub + Assistant, and yet I bet none are incentivized to make this great. OpenAI probably has a few people who care deeply about quality and obsess over this.

A little insider info: Bar Bocce is indeed listed online as allowing dogs, but they have on at least one occasion changed this policy in response to past dogs having gotten aggressive... You do actually have to call! Source: they wouldn't let me bring Gelato. :(

Is that a leadership ownership of quality, an IC (of all levels) ownership of quality of both? Read Creative Selection by Ken Kocienda - Apple/Jobs did such an amazing job of being the arbiter of “taste”. He credited his liberal arts background (example, taking course on typography) as driving force of this. Did weekly prototype demos with individual Eng working on things and leadership to iterate to a good place. Does that resonate at all?
