I used to do this but I put 2 tomatoes side by side, I did 1 stem on 1 and the other 1 I let it grow. The results were amazing. I got 4 times the tomatoes on the plant I just let it grow. It requires more space but it’s worth it. The most productive is an egg under the plant.
