See Im NOT about to condone none of this. The gatekeeping aint good enough for me. Our hair is sacred and to see this is very disturbing. So we just say fuck the Sistas that have made this their craft? Who have made a living off of making us feel beautiful after we leave their shop/ house? Who were our therapy session? Who we built connections/bonds with? Who told us how to properly CARE for our hair? Why are we taking from our Sistas? More money going back into the pockets of the same ppl who degraded our hair and weaponized it against us. And to pay $600 for these below average braids is the worst part. Listen, at any other time in American history, I understand the civil dispute that is valid for vetting a candidate. But if you have not been watching the news lately, WE ARE NO LONGER THERE ANYMORE. There is a qualified Black Woman running for Governor of Ga. Every win right now is about stopping the intentional destruction, dismantling, and erasure of Black people in the United States of America. We do not have time for infighting. We have a qualified candidate who is polling above every other person running. So what are we doing? This is not the time for ego, division, personal feelings, or purity tests. This is survival. This is strategy. This is about protecting Black communities, Black rights, Black futures, and Black political power. The people working against us are organized. The people attacking us are coordinated. Meanwhile, we are debating each other while the clock is running out. We do not have time for this anymore.

A new office isn't a right. It's a privilege, and one we must earn every day. Today is our first day in Meow's new HQ in the heart of Soho. The internet isn't even up yet, so I'm typing this tethered to my phone. I'm proud of the early Meow team that graduated from dark rooms to a space of our own. We could have done this years ago but we waited until we crossed 8 figures in net revenue and until we knew our growth engine actually repeats. The entire team, since day 1, has never complained and has been on board with this ethos. Above all, we're grateful for our customers. None of this is possible without the customer. And we must earn the right to serve our customers every single day.

If this were just a regular employee speaking to their boss, I would call this ass-kissing. But it’s not. This is truly how so many people feel about President Trump, including the people who work directly underneath him. “Thank you Mr. President for being willing to take a bullet for this country… The fact that this President, after four years of serving in office, he could have just left it in the rearview mirror and went on to really enjoy retirement. Oh the dialogue is good, real good. This part of the podcast started off with Antwan "Ish" Marby (Cohost) leading his argument w/ Dr. Umar about how there really is no Democrats v. Republicans because they both don’t care about Blacks and simply use different tactics to garner our votes—which everyone was in agreement with. He then attempted to use that point to connect with the fact that because of this, he believes the bigger issue at hand in America was class not race. Dr. Umar proceeds to quickly deliver a rebuttal to this belief, by highlighting how other races/ethnicities have been weaponized to stifle & undermine Black progression and how White privilege is still an advantage even in the face of poverty or economic inequality. He reiterates that in America, race trumps everything.

Somalis must open their eyes and recognize who their true enemy is, and stop reviving the economy of a state that works tirelessly to keep us down. This market should be shut down and its funds redirected to Somalia. Every dollar spent there could be a brick laid in rebuilding our homeland. We must rebuild our country, not another. This is a golden opportunity for Somali politicians to bring back our wealth and turn Somalia into a thriving economic hub. With the rise in far-right voices against migration, how long will it take for what happened in South Africa to happen in America, Canada, the UK, or Europe? It may look impossible, but that is exactly how some of us felt last year in South Africa. The green card, blue, red, or black passport will NOT save us when that day comes! We MUST get involved in fixing home; get your people back home to get their PVCs. Let’s help change our country!
