This is how you know it was built right.

That’s how you know none of that heat is coming back into the room

It’s BBQ, not supposed to be used for heating.

@RCallsign That is fireplace, not a BBQ

@RCallsign Nope, it can be used as a pizza or bread oven, also like this thing from the image and many other things.

@RCallsign No, not really. It may look like it but this is unfinished. Inside comes the real fireplace of metal with glass that closes and so on. Nothing like what you have in the picture. Look at their picture, it is inside a house. You cannot have an open fireplace like that.

@RCallsign It’s actually pretty common thing in some countries. This is just another example here.

@RCallsign Here’s another example.

Proper draw of air matters.

Indeed

Right, but the amount of air volume going up the chimney equals the amount of air that leaks in via all the cracks and crevices in your house, if you don’t have a combustion air vent installed inside your fireplace!

It's also sucking about 90% of the heat up there too. An insert with a blower or cast iron stove is much more efficient for heating.

@RealFletch17 Burning all that fuel for ambience. Smoke AND heat right up the chimney. It is nice and big though.

WAIT!! You mean heat rises and cause an updraft in a flue? Get the fuck outta here that sorcery ...

Because the fire is drawing in the air for combustion and throwing it up as heat rises.. Do a smoke without a fire burning in the fire place, see if all that smoke does the same thing.

Most people think this is for heating, hahahaha

but how many warm air is taken from the room? All that air have bo be replaced with outside cold air.

It’s BBQ, so it’ll do just fine😃

Heat /smoke naturally goes up with the current air flow.

@RealFletch17 Or just has a fan up top lol

Good draw

Indeed it is

That, and if it's getting really cold you know exactly where the heat is going and why you freeze your balls off... 🤷

Hmmmm, my barbecue smokes exactly in the opposite direction

True for a new-build. Also evidence that the chimney isn’t blocked etc

mine lasted 12 years before the hinge gave out

I had two fireplaces, outside vent , they still sucked the heat right out of my house.

The draft is but the base is (very)wrong, any good (Italian) oven as a 1,5 m dirt base to accumulate eat.

This is the way

That chimney must be massive.

that's just basic physics.

i mean. i get what you mean. but it’s literally just doing the one job it’s supposed to do.

Or its windy outside.

Так же и туда же уходит все тепло,не только в очаге,но и в доме.Так что это не практично в 21 веке.

It sucks

Yes! Awsome

Heat rises. How can you not build it right?

Excellent draft

How do I build it right?

👍

Texas' deregulated home electric market is still saving each responding consumer, 3 to 5 cents per kWhr each month for each contract period. Even for as long as each consumer wants in life.
