And stop waking people up 3x a night for blood pressure when they’re not at risk. Sleeping HEALS. Sunlight HEALS. Jell-o does not heal.

Expert healthy people led civilized society to shut parks during a global flu pandemic - claiming we were much safer indoors. R you challenging that science, sir?

They should take their patients out of their beds to take sunlight for better recovery. Wheelchairs?

This is fascinating. We talk a lot about nutrition and exercise, but light is another environmental signal our mitochondria respond to. Sunshine, movement, quality sleep, and good nutrition all work together. The human body was never designed to live indoors under artificial light all day.

“It feels so lovely! I don’t want to leave!” Every human has an innate draw towards the sun because it is the ultimate healer! Meanwhile, hospital rooms are not a good environment for healing. Any modern indoor environment blocks all of the most healing wavelengths like UV, red, and infrared light. UV light (especially UVB) acts like a natural switch that turns on vitamin D production in your skin. Vitamin D strengthens your immune system, supports bone health, and helps your body fight off illness. UV light (specifically UVA) also helps create nitric oxide, which relaxes blood vessels and improves circulation. Red light works like a battery charger for your cells. It reaches the mitochondria (the tiny power plants inside every cell) and helps them make more energy (ATP). More cellular energy means less inflammation, faster healing of tissues, and better recovery from stress or illness. Infrared light goes even deeper into the body. It gently warms tissues, boosts blood flow, eases muscle and joint pain, and further supports those same cellular power plants so your body can repair itself more effectively. Together, these wavelengths give your body the natural signals it needs to heal, energize, and thrive. When patients stay indoors under artificial lights, they miss out on this free, powerful medicine.

When TB was an epidemic patients were sent to a Saranac Lake hospital. They had huge open air patios that held reclining chairs. People were bundled up and put out there. There were remarkable stories of cures. Many people just stayed and lived in Adirondacks from then on

In Southern Africa all the hospitals had wide stoops or verandahs - covered outdoor areas - that 'circled' the main buildings. The beds were pushed out.

They still have some of those but more as historic “nods” rather than remembering and reminding why we had them… like the Hot Springs National Historic area in Arkansas… you can still do the original “spa” treatment which is interesting and they show how they used to have the beds on the roof… but it is displayed like an arcane process rather than as something to be revisited… that was before big M*dicine or pha*ma
