This is not a university in some Islamic country. This prayer was held at UCLA in California. Perhaps some think this is a harmless prayer, something that we can understand as freedom of religion. And just that is a mistake that could destroy the West. This is not a private matter, this shows how hard they could weigh on political decisions. This religious display of power has no place in a university. Praying with such a large group is a manifestation of power which falls under the political piece of Islam. Islam is gaining ground thanks to its presence in everyday life. It’s not just confined to the private sphere as it is with other religions. The words "Allahu akbar" recur every time in a prayer to remind people that "Allah is the greatest" of all gods. In Arabic, "kabir" means "great", "akbar" means "GREATEST". With such manifestations, they want to show their power. And they want to show that they will dominate. This is far from innocent, time to wake up.

I note Prime Minister Andrew Holness’s remarks in a TV interview this morning. Neither he nor his Party has made those proposals as part of the process of constitutional reform. His proposals are therefore not in the report of the Constitutional Reform Committee, and will not be in the new Constitution coming out of that process. Furthermore, Mr. Holness’s proposals are not in the existing Constitution, and would violate the existing Constitution. This is in keeping with his and his Government’s unfortunate history of past violations of the Constitution of Jamaica. It seems that the Prime Minister wants to make up a rule which is not part of the Constitution or laws of Jamaica, to suit his Party’s political fortune at a time when it is waning. He has no power and no authority to do that. He needs to tell the country why his statutory declarations to the Integrity Commission cannot be certified. I am compliant with the Constitution and laws of Jamaica, and I undertake to the People of Jamaica that I will continue to be so.

One should have no hesitation in admitting that the RSS No 2, Dattatreya Hosabale, has taken a position that is fundamentally #AntiIndia. At a time when the Government of India has rightly asserted that TERROR and TALKS cannot go hand in hand, it is shocking that an individual at the helm of affairs within the ideological root organisation of the ruling party appears willing to advocate for trade talks and visa relaxations with those who continue to enable hostility against India. This position is indefensible, deeply insensitive and profoundly disrespectful to the sacrifices made for this country.

Denied entry into a public court for hours. Let that sink in. Locked out of justice like it is a private club, not a constitutional right. And when we finally got in, the same system had the audacity to hide behind a broken Zoom connection, refusing to even produce people physically. A whole court reduced to buffering screens and excuses. This is not justice. This is a disgrace. A weak, failing system exposing itself in broad daylight. Ugandans are not fools, and we will not be silent in the face of this shame.

The objection by the representative of India to Pakistan's mention of Jammu and Kashmir in the Arria Formula meeting was not surprising to us. India, as a party to the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, has actually refused to implement the Security Council resolutions on this dispute, and has even refused to cooperate with the United Nations, including the good offices of the Secretary-General, and with all those mechanisms that form part of Chapter VI. As I stated in my statement, Kashmir is an international dispute. It is on the agenda of the Security Council. It was never a part of India, and it is not, and cannot be, part of India — because this was the core question at the heart of these Security Council resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir. The purpose was to determine the status of this territory: whether it wishes to be part of India or Pakistan. That status has not yet been determined, because the resolutions have not been implemented. This isn’t just a park—it’s a space that brings the soul of our Constitution into public life. For me, it was especially moving. This is the very campus where I first studied the spirit of our democracy, and today, it stands as a beacon of those timeless values. If we lived in a normal world and normal Country, one where we call benefit from exploiting our resources a pipeline would just be built. Who is going to invest in a project that has this level of hoops to jump through in order for it to happen? This has been set up to fail from day one. When the leader of your Country is so visibly uncomfortable talking about something as simple as a pipeline, it’s not happening.
