This is Isaac Newton’s kitchen, which he used in the 1660s. Here is another room, and look at his toilet too. Everything is remarkably well preserved. I see so many similarities with the pots (Ite Ona) and wooden kitchens I grew up seeing in my village. Tourists from all... show more

This is from 1660, but this is luxury for an average Nigerian in 2026. You see how much barrenness our leaders have put us through. And these things were preserved because he was Isaac Newton. We have places like this in Nigeria too. Just that we don't value our own like this

You mean you guys are paying £15 just that see "Ite Ona" that is wasting away in my village?

Please what's this to Isaac?

Make I go preserve my grannies stuffs very remain..

I hope what was born in you today becomes a real project back home.

This is just wonderful to behold

The phrase “Nigeria destroys their own history”, doesn’t edify or help the matter. Maybe it’s better to suggest: “Nigeria can do better with preserving her history”. Any, and everything can be said. How it is said is (in the opinion of many) what is important. Cheers!

I genuinely believe most people get their best ideas while answering the call of nature. 😂 Why am I having this thought that there’s actually something special about this type of toilet? Even the Chinese still dey use am till today.

A borrowed religion have made us to our ways of life. We all l@ck the ab!l!ty to tell our history and story for our's interest

Isn’t that kokorin and firewood?? 😳 Wow.. I’m shocked

Any time I get to Lokoja, Kogi and I look at lord Lugard house and how the state govt are not sensible enough to make it a Torist site and market it to draw attention i just weep.

We bought the pots from them actually

Na sporty bet I de stay for my own room play.🤦🤦

Just because you’re fat today, doesn’t mean that you’ll be near tomorrow. It’s a matter of which direction the country is going

This 1660s toilet is still cleaner than what I met in UNILAG Science faculty 10 years ago.

Newtonian Shyte!

All these things we use in this century had been in used decades ago. Osino 1660s. Centuries ago

What's that baby bed? Did he have a baby that we didn't know of?

Your post can never be complete if you have not denigrated Nigeria To each their own

What do you expect from a country that woke up one day to remove history studies in their curriculum for secondary school.

Religion have made us to destroy our ways of life

Very interesting

Thanks for sharing.

His toilet in 1600s still looks better than what you find in the post-graduate hostel of some nigerian universities in 2026.

I wanted to gift my papa a modern turntable machine and man told me he burnt all his vinyl records 🤦🏿♂️ Some evergreen records that may be sort after now or in the future, all destroyed.

There's so much about a three legged pot... should I say a mystery behind it
