This is the first time I’m seeing this video—or any video like it—about Black history, and it honestly opened my eyes to how ignorant I’ve been of such an important side of our story. Hearing him speak stirred something in me that I don’t think words alone could’ve done. It left me with so many questions and realizations. 1. Religion has long been a tool of colonization, and at this point, it’s almost impossible to tell how far it’s drifted from its original purpose. 2. During the slave trade, Africans sold their own brothers for power, status, guns, mirrors, tobacco, and foreign gin. 3. The cycle continued when some Black people sold out their brothers for a false sense of freedom (I’m referring to the “Uncle Toms”). 4. And today, our politicians are still selling us to the same powers—just wearing newer suits—for wealth and influence. My honest question is: will this cycle ever end? Or is colonialism a hereditary curse that keeps evolving, finding new faces and new systems to hide behind? Seeing us repeat history again and again is honestly triggering. Frantz Fanon once called it internalized colonialism—and I finally understand what he meant.

I liked it when the young man questioned the black man in suit, asking if God had put the white man in charge to rule over him. And he was trying to brainwash the young man, but the young man knows what he's talking about. Religion sometimes deprives people of logical reasoning.
