Spoke to a friend. Apparently the police were neither informed nor asked for permission. If he’d been mobbed or injured in a rush of fans, it would’ve become an international incident. Sorry lads, the cops were right on this one. Perhaps it could’ve been dealt with differently for optics but they were right to stop him.

@edsheeran Well Ed Sheeran here is heard saying "we were going to play more than one song , but we have been asked to play only one song". Also cops say they had asked for permission, but they denied the same.
