Remember watching this as a kid on the “Crowning Glory” VHS, narrated by Cliff Morgan. Great stuff.

Recall it well. Bill McLaren described it as “one of the great moments of this international championship campaign”. One of the few capped by the Lions before his country. Hair's on the back of my neck stood up when I watched and I'm English!

Shirt unsullied by any commercial verbiage! Only mark is that three feather stain. Why did we not know that in truth it was a mark of servitude? #DitchtheFeathers 🏴

Your dad runs on. He is ecstatic, the crowd is ecstatic. His face shows his pride and the commitment to the game and acknowledges the fans. Such a great guy. Elaine says your mam is very special too. Des

How good 👊

Loved watching your dad play when I was a kid but because of Bill McLarren’s commentry I thought his surname was Quinnell-Palm’s.

I see your Dad in the Colliers, Furnace sometimes and there's a corridor from the toilet. My plan is to get some of those cardboard supermarket coppers and line them up for when he comes out of toilet for a good barge.

I remember watching it as a young fellow, new to rugby at the time but we soon caught up. met Derek in Old jury's Hotel in Dublin before an international. Great fella, great pints.

One of the best clips in "The Crowning Years" video! 👍
