“This is not a staffing shortage we face. It is a systemic removal of conscience from the patient's last line of defense between life and the most profitable industry in the United States. The nurse is present at the beginning of life, the end of life, and the scary...

Nurses have been indoctrinated, captured by policies that are profit 📈 driven, and greed for one of the best paying healthcare jobs. I applaud 👏 her for being the face of nursing role in this. This isn't easy to buck the system and face the backlash for being apart of one of the most unethical medical experiences. This gives me hope that one day the truth will come out about how they treat patients with chronic pain. The abuse and mockery is absolutely deadly. People have committed suicide to what they're doing to patients in chronic pain.

I can not believe we are managing to move on with no new safeguards in place yet. If we , when we, have another pandemic forced on us, we are no better off than before. This is atrocious. I am afraid the next go round will be much worse. More authoritarian. Just watch

Former nurse and I've strongly discouraged my new college age daughter to not become a nurse. It will take a decade to unravel this distrust and damage they've done. For now she's heeding my warning

Beautifully said. Patients first. Nurses are advocates and must protect those who are in their care and trust them to do so✨️

OTD April 2, 2005, 21 years ago, John Paul II "has returned to the house of his Father." Today, on Holy Thursday, it is worth to remember Karol Wojtyła's vision of priesthood from the last "Letter to Priests," which he wrote twenty days earlier, on March 13, 2005. The video images are from his first Way of the Cross as pontiff on April 13, 1979. *Eucharist as "formula of life" "If the whole Church draws life from the Eucharist, all the more then must the life of a priest be 'shaped' by the Eucharist. So for us, the words of institution must be more than a formula of consecration: they must be a 'formula of life.'" *Gratitude "In the Eucharist Jesus thanks the Father with us and for us. How could this thanksgiving of Jesus fail to shape the life of a priest? ... We have our crosses to bear — and we are certainly not the only ones! — but the gifts we have received are so great that we cannot fail to sing from the depths of our hearts our own Magnificat." *Priesthood as a gift to others "If he is able to offer himself as a gift, placing himself at the disposal of the community and at the service of anyone in need, his life takes on its true meaning." *A life of obedience "Obeying out of love, sacrificing even a certain legitimate freedom when the authoritative discernment of the Bishop so requires, the priest lives out in his own flesh that "take and eat" with which Christ, in the Last Supper, gave himself to the Church." *Holiness "It is our relationship to the Eucharist that most clearly challenges us to lead a 'sacred' life. This must shine forth from our whole way of being, but above all from the way we celebrate. Let us sit at the school of the saints!" "Vocations will certainly not be lacking if our manner of life is truly priestly, if we become more holy, more joyful, more impassioned in the exercise of our ministry." *Eucharistic adoration "To place ourselves before Jesus in the Eucharist, to take advantage of our 'moments of solitude' and to fill them with this Presence, is to enliven our consecration by our personal relationship with Christ, from whom our life derives its joy and its meaning." *Totus Tuus "Who more than Mary can help us taste the greatness of the Eucharistic mystery? She more than anyone can teach us how to celebrate the sacred mysteries with due fervour and to commune with her Son, hidden in the Eucharist. I pray to her, then, for all of you, and I entrust to her especially the elderly, the sick, and those in difficulty." Video: Caeremoniale Romanum via CTV

QUOTE 1: Conscience is an indispensable companion of both moral life and holistic self-realization. It recognizes our errors and weaknesses, giving an early signal for correction. Yet conscience itself must grow — and its development is supported by reason and constructive feelings. : The author presents conscience as an indispensable companion to both moral life and holistic self-realization. It serves as an inner guardian, sensitively detecting our errors and weaknesses and providing an early warning that allows for timely correction. However, conscience is not static or infallible. It must itself grow and mature. This development is nourished by two essential forces: reason, which brings clarity, consistency, and depth of understanding, and constructive feelings, which provide warmth, empathy, and moral sensitivity. When reason and feeling work in harmony, conscience becomes sharper, wiser, and more reliable. Without this ongoing cultivation, conscience can remain narrow, inconsistent, or overly rigid. With it, conscience evolves into a powerful guide that supports not only ethical conduct but the continuous unfolding of our full human potential. QUOTE 2: The choice of the modern individual is the duty of full self-realization and the readiness to face the judgment of conscience in moments of weakness. : The author states that the fundamental choice facing the modern individual is the conscious acceptance of a duty: the commitment to full self-realization. This is not optional self-improvement but a moral obligation to develop one’s intellect, character, creativity, and potential to the highest possible degree. Equally important is the readiness to face the judgment of one’s own conscience during moments of weakness. True self-realization demands honesty with oneself. When we falter, conscience must be allowed to speak clearly and without evasion. This inner accountability prevents self-deception and ensures that personal growth remains genuine rather than superficial. In this view, modern freedom is inseparable from responsibility. The privilege of shaping one’s life comes with the duty to shape it meaningfully and the courage to confront one’s shortcomings. Self-realization and moral self-honesty together form the core ethical demand of our time.
