It screws the farmers, prices will go down in time for the mid terms (buys some votes) then a little later the prices will come screaming back higher than before once that cheap beef is gone. Then there will be even fewer heads of beef because we couldnt invest anything back into raising more beef. Capitalism really does work if the government doesnt try to help.

It’s 300K metric tons. Or 8 days of U.S. consumption. It’s not enough to touch the markets. It’s around 2% of yearly consumption. And at that reduced by 20% price point it’s probably going to lower income families that haven’t been buying beef anyway. And Jess if you have your cows slaughtered and packed at a USDA locker and buy a $1K zero degree commercial freezer and get a permit you can sell cuts right off your farm. Not sure in SD but we need to register with the MPIP.

In all reality 300,000 pounds of beef isn’t shit compared to daily usage so I wonder who all that daily beef is gonna go to the elite maybe it’s clean grass fed beef and then there’s gonna be some kind of problem with the beef supply some parasite that makes you shit water for six weeks uncontrollably.
